RockShox Lyrik Ultimate

Why do you want carbon wheels? And if you have to ask the questions you are I'm wondering if you're going to get a noticeable upgrade out of $2k. Same thing with the Lyrik Ultimate. A lot of what you're getting over the lower priced models is more adjustment which, unless you're a highly experienced mountain biker riding some serious terrain, you're probably not even going to use.

Depends on your budget, I have a lyrik ultimate that started it’s life with a 150mm airspring and has been bumped up to 170mm. I really like it and have found that it’s a bit easier to service RS forks and shocks than fox. I like the fox 36 as well, but ultimately felt like the Lyrik offered a better value for the money. Lyrik Ultimate will be a few hundred dollars cheaper than a factory 36.

Drops on it also result in a fair shock. Just get the Lyrik Ultimate, it'll be a far more enjoyable fork.

Don't know what year your fork is but I got a Lyrik Ultimate in mid 2019. I installed the Debonair air spring and the HC97 and the fork was so much better! Plus they give recommendations on how to setup the shim stack based on your weight which is also important. Even if you go with the Charger 2.1 or nothing at all, you may still want to get the fork reshimmed for your weight and riding style.

The previous Lyrik didn't leave much to be desired, but the enhancements the 2023 version receives take it to the next level.
