 If you have a really pretty fashion bra this might not work very well because they're not going to probably make it in hot pink or something like that but still it's a really good way of prolonging the life of a bra that you would probably ordinarily not continue to wear. And it's inexpensive, it's made from high quality materials, it doesn't break easy, it's something that you can really just pick up for under 10 bucks and you can use it on a variety of bras, it's something you can hold on to and I think it will save you money long term. Again, a lot of my Gastro Bypass customers absolutely love this because they can buy one and then it can carry them forward with all the different weight transitions that they're seeing. Rixie Clip - Review

 Hello and welcome to Sophisticated Pairs video blog.

 My name is Erica and today I am reviewing the Rixie Clip.

 On the blog I tend to review a lot of bras, matching sets, even some underwear, but I've

 largely ignored an entire market within the lingerie industry and that's accessories.

 The Rixie Clip is one such accessory and these are awesome because the world of accessories

 allows you to typically solve some existing bra problems you have without needing to resort

 So with Rixie Clip it actually shortens the band of your bra.

 So this is a really great piece for anyone who is experiencing either weight transition

 or has had maybe the weight loss surgery and finds that they have these wonderful bras

 that don't fit because the band has gotten too big.

 This will manually shorten it and it's super easy to use.

 You can take it off the bra again if you need to and it doesn't require any sewing.

 So the Rixie Clip basically functions by sliding over the eye closure part of the bra up onto

 the wing and then it has these metal teeth that lock onto the wing itself and prevent

 the clip from sliding as you hook your bra together.

 Now I know with teeth that's a little bit intimidating because the first thought I had

 was whether or not the teeth were going to rip or pull the fabric of the wing.

 So far I haven't had any problems with it and I have tried it on both the traditional

 power net mesh as well as a bra that was a little bit lacier.

 I tried it on some of my Anna Pardell bras in particular which uses very beautiful, very

 soft lace and they didn't damage the bras at all.

 So for me I haven't found that to be an issue.

 It does stay locked in place really well which is a fantastic element to it because you obviously

 don't want it to slide and have your bra unhook on you or get looser throughout the day.

 I would recommend the RixiClip particularly to anybody who's already got an existing bra

 that they've been wearing and they need the band tightened.

 So one of the reasons we started to carry the product in January was because we work

 with a lot of women who've had gastric bypass surgery and particularly with the surgery

 you tend to lose weight very rapidly so it's very easy to size out of bras that are perfectly

 They just are now too big and the RixiClip can at least help on the front of the band.

 Cup size is a whole other issue but the band it can help with.

 Now there's something to keep in mind about the RixiClip.

 Anytime you're going to shorten the overall band length it can change the position of

 So this is one of the reasons I tend to recommend it more as a solution for people who have

 existing bras that they're hoping to get more wear out of rather than as a starter piece

 So for example I've read or seen people use the RixiClip to have access to bras that wouldn't

 So this is particularly true of a lot of 26, 28 and 30 band women who may find a bra fits

 them very well but it just doesn't come tight enough in the band for them.

 I tend to caution a little bit on that front simply because it will change the underwire

 shape if you've already got the bra and your option is either throwing it out or wearing

 RixiClip is really fantastic but I would hesitate to say let's start off using it right from

 the get go because of the way it can change underwire shape.

 It can depend a lot on how the underwire sits on the side as well as how the cup is shaped

 It may make it slightly wider but really not cause any other issues.

 So you might want to keep that in mind if you're thinking of using RixiClip particularly

 So now I'm going to show you how to use the RixiClip on one of my old stretch out bras

 and I will have some detailed pictures that pop up periodically just so you can actually

 So this is my old Jasmine bra that bit the dust a while ago.

 What you want to do is you want to find the eye closure part of the bra and you want to

 take this metal side that's got the RixiClip written on it and you want to make sure that's

 on the bottom and you just slide it through like this and then you want to kind of adjust

 it before you move the teeth down so you kind of want to figure out where it's going to

 I don't want to say it's a complaint but there is a potential issue with RixiClip in that

 they have their own standardized sizes and not all manufacturers use those standardized

 This is true of other things like bra standards too so it's not really a complaint against

 It's just more saying that sometimes a manufacturer may use a hook and eye closure setting or

 may shape the back of the bra a little bit differently.
