That's been the spiffing Brits review of Rimworld.

Factorio (and rimworld) is one of the few games in my adulthood that I got so addicted to I stayed up almost through the night playing. Well worth the $30

Lemme guess, RimWorld?

(Not that vanilla RimWorld is bad, I just heard from people who play it that it becomes boring after a while)

I have really enjoyed games like Fallout 4, and Rimworld for the base building aspect and the ability to venture out, collect things, and slowly build and personalize your home. I spent a lot of time playing ARK as well but didn’t like being forced to team up with others to survive or the fact that other players can destroy your work while you are offline. Are there any games that have similar gameplay out there?

Tried RimWorld years ago but ultimately gave it up for a few reasons. One big one was it just lacked depth relative to Dwarf Fortress, lacking both 3D and the more complex detailed personal interactions, character traits, and how those things emergently influence AI behaviour and how players deal with them.

Any Paradox grand strategy game would probably work.

There are also some base building type games like Rimworld or Kenshi that can be played with just a mouse and both can be paused to give commands.

Fallout 76, which I really enjoy atm, House Flipper with DLCs, Stardew Valley and Rimworld. But I donno when I will have time for the others

Might I recommend indie games ?

I've gotten way more bang for my buck on titles like The Long Dark and Rimworld for example.
