 It's not so bad if you are just dumping the contents into a bowl, but if you are trying to pour into a smaller-mouthed container (e.g., cup, jar, bottle) it is a problem.

I like everything about this large Pyrex measuring cup except the pour spout. The glass is heavy; the markings are detailed yet easy to read; the handle is ergodynamically designed. But the pour spout is either too small &/or too shallow, because if you don't pour very slowly, the liquid over-spills the spout and runs down the outside front of the cup (which you can't see because that part is facing downwards). All of a sudden, you realize that 1/2 of the liquid you are tying to pour into a container is dribbling out all over your counter top

Not much needs to be said about this classic kitchen staple, however I offer a warning not to order more then one at a time if ordering via Amazon Fresh. I made the mistake of ordering 2 and the measuring cups were delivered so tightly wedge together I had to toss them out. I have no idea the packer did not simply wrap each individually in a bit of paper. I tried everything I know to safely separate them such as immersing the bottom in hot water and filling the top with iced water in the top as well as applying oil to try to tease them apart

Don't buy more then one at a time....

This measuring cup worked great for me for 8 years. Yesterday while cleaning the microwave, the handle melted downwards changing the shape. Supposed to be microwave safe and durable.

 And when soda-lime glass fails from this cause, the failure is often quite violent.  This is where the "exploding Pyrex" came from, in which multiple sources reported catastrophic failures of Pyrex products, all of which were verified to be soda-lime glass Pyrex (and none of which were borosilicate products from the pre-1998 products.) There are limitations to the research because no one knows the exact conditions all of the soda-lime Pyrex products failed at, BUT, what it shows us is that borosilicate is a better material when temperature resistance is involved (and especially when temperature shifts are involved.) While soda lime Pyrex is generally strong and performs well, it does not have the performance of a borosilicate and it should not be treated the same way that a borosilicate product would

 For the price, I think these are an excellent value, well-labeled, and very good at resisting breakage from shock. However, these (like all home-use Pyrex products currently made) are made with a tempered glass that is not the best for heat-resistance. Consequently, I am more careful when using these and do not use them when larger temperature fluctuations are possible. So while I feel that these are a great match for most people, your own cooking habits & usage will determine how well-suited these are for you, personally

Great overall design - & as Pyrex, it is durable, strong & affordable, but not the most temperature-resistant glass product made

  My friend, a culinary expert of the female persuasion, pontificated, nay, waxed poetically about the wonders of her cup, how it was virtually drip-less and made cooking a joy and a wonder.  I had to possess one of these cups! Even though I was somewhat dubious, I pressed the "PURCHASE" button with nervous anticipation.  Saints be praised! This device IS virtually dripless and once again my kitchen is a place of merriment and frivolity! Note: I say virtually, because there is an occasional drip. But if one pours swiftly and with confidence, this dribbling can be avoided

Sadly, through the years I had been slopping along with an older model Pyrex measuring cup (circa 1979) which, no matter how I poured - quick or slow - would invariably drip liquids down the side and onto the counter. Needless to say, this problem vexed me for lo these many decades and I happened to mention it to a friend, who, being not of shy countenance, swore with vehemence by the qualities of the newer Pyrex model.  My friend, a culinary expert of the female persuasion, pontificated, nay, waxed poetically about the wonders of her cup, how it was virtually drip-less and made cooking a joy and a wonder.  I had to possess one of these cups! Even though I was somewhat dubious, I pressed the "PURCHASE" button with nervous anticipation

  No longer am I a slave to the drudgery of cleaning up the liquid leavings of my old cup. Now I can pour freely with confidence and enjoy the joie de vivre of cooking, thanks to my new, improved Pyrex Prepware 2-cup Measuring Cup!  Pyrex, I am indebted to you far beyond the price of this implement.

Finally, A Dripless Measuring Cup!

 So I finally ordered a second one. But it is not the same! The markings are the same, the handle is the same, but the pour spout is different! My old one pours wonderfully; I can pour it fast or slow and it doesn't spill. The new one has a narrower pour spout. Somehow this causes it to pour down the side of the measuring cup and all over the counter instead of where I want it to go

 I took some pictures to post showing the change, but I cannot seem to find how to do it with this product.  Pyrex: If you change this item back to it's previous standard please let me know! I would love to purchase another that is like the old one I have! :)

2 cup has changed

Poorly Made No longer my go to brand.....

I will of course update this review if the measuring lines fade from going through the dishwasher, or if it breaks in the microwave. It looks good and sturdy, thick walled glass like my other Pyrex (I have both types) dishes. The thing that is wrong is a coarse piece of glass fused on the handle, right where your thumb would land. It's small (which is probably why it passed QA) but fairly sharp edged

 I should be able to grind it off with the Dremel but of course it should not have been there to begin with.
