Pure Blue Japan XX-019 Relaxed Tapered

Purchased these PBJ SR-019 after seeing a few people post about them and seeing them restock. Got them from Okayama Denim and they arrived about 3 days after purchase (Japan to Seattle). Okayama was top notch in terms of customer service and responding to questions about measurements of the new batch and availability (weren’t available when I asked but they said they would get them in 5 days-which they did).

Lotta firsts all wrapped up in one pair of jeans…. Super pumped, so bear with me. Make and model: PBJ OG-019 - 14oz Selvedge denim: Indigo dyed Organic Cotton Warp x Brown dyed Recycled Cotton Weft (Relaxed Tapered fit). Size: 33 raw - I’m 6’0”, 185lbs, 34” waist - Pics are PRE-SOAK, and for reference only.

However I'm now at the point in my career that I'm no longer in the hospital daily and I can wear what I want to wear within reason. However, residency has caused me to lose 31 lb , so I've decided to buy my first new pair in 5 years - PBJ SR-019. Pretty excited about that.

The PBJ -019 fit is really what sold me. My UB669s were my first relaxed tapered cut and I'm not super happy with them, a little bit too much room in my thighs. These fit like a glove when I tried them on, the thighs aren't skin tight like some of my other cuts but they don't feel like I'm swimming in denim.

Construction is A+ and the fit is (to me) just what I was looking for. Leaves more room at the ankle, giving a more relaxed sillouhette than the more aggressively tapered PBJ 19's of various kinds I've worn almost exclusively for the past few years. The top block is flatteringly fitted while the knee and ankle aren't quite so narrow.

For sale are some PBJ XX-019 - tagged 33 but fit more like 31 after a couple of soaks. Asking for $225 + 20 for shipping. Fantastic denim, worn twice but they have been hot soaked. Relaxed Tapered fit 14oz unsanforized -- a roomier fit designed for anyone with larger thighs.

PBJ xx-019 14oz Relax Tapered - Size 36 - $180. Took a gamble on these but after a hot soak think they are still just a little big on me so offering them up here.
