This is a treadmill that I would recommend to a family member or anyone who is looking for something compact and affordable.

I personally have the Proform Carbon T10 (with a free 1 yr family subscription to iFit, which I surprisingly REALLY love!) that's 3 CHP. I got it on sale at Best Buy for less than $1000. (I had no idea that Best Buy even sold exercise equipment, but it turns out that they sell them at the cheapest prices and still offer $100 in home installation during the pandemic, so it was perfect for me!)

I have two Proform treadmills that I've bought in the past - the best one I had is 20 years old and still going strong - it has incline - the other a crosswalk had no incline but is still in excellent condition too. I thought I'd update so I'm currently looking for another Proform and the T7 and T10...

I have a ProForm Carbon T10 that also folds, but it folds at an awkward angle. I don't see how folding it like that has any benefit to storage, so I just keep it in its normal form at all times. Please check to see if you're okay with the final configuration of your treadmill before you purchase. That said, the folding mechanism is pretty easy for an adult, and it weighs way too much to be tipped over at any position, especially by a child.

I bought a ProForm Carbon T10 in Jan. Was delivered in 7 calendar days. It's right around your price limit, but I was able to purchase 3 yrs of ifit, and get the treadmill for "free."

So far, I haven't used it too much, but my wife uses it every day. My wife & I moved it into place & assembled it ourselves. It is very large.
