Compared to other encasements we tested, this one seems the most secure when appropriately closed. We found it easy for one person to install on a mattress. It performed adequately in our liquid resistance testing, keeping the bulk of our spills from soaking into the terry top.

It appeared that the product was of high quality until I tried to zipper the protector close. During sewing in the zipper, the material was sewn so close to the zipper for about 1 foot or so making it impossible to zip the protector shut. Given that I purchased it to protect the mattress from potential bed bugs - this negated its ability to provide that function. It was sent back and here is hoping that the replacement's zipper will work

 That relived my worry before opening the package in case it needed to be returned. The packaging could be made more easily understandable by the addition of 9-12 or 12-15 if the company ever has to re-order more packages for shipping.  Other than that little issue, I would so far rate this as a 5. We have never had an accident get through a mattress pad we use to test whether the mattress encasement protected the mattress

 I hear that many have to bring in professional exterminators at a cost of thousands of dollars to get rid of them.  The 9-12" cover fit my 12" twin with a bit of room in it. I was glad that it wasn't too snug of a fit so that the zipper would not be strained when closed. I'm very happy with this product, as you can see, I've used it twice now

A good and reliable product

 Doesn’t seem to accumulate dust mites. It’s breathable, doesn’t intensify heat, easy to put on, tab over zipper keeps it zipped (and I can see how it would be bug resistant, although that’s not an issue I can attest to). It doesn’t make noise or crinkle. Definitely easy to clean, a spill you can scrub right off — it doesn’t stain

 Will protect the bed without getting ripped by tossing/turning, so you can leave the pad in place night after night.

It’s a nice mattress protector if you’re not putting “water resistance” to the test.

 Do what I do, cut the velcro off and place a wide patch of duct tape over the zipper end.  That being said, this is a great mattress cover. It seems durable, and so far it has held up against the abuse that I have put it through.  You could do worse

 If I see a piece of a lint on my comforter, I flip out for half a second until I confirm it's not a bed bug. Thus, I would imagine that someone who is super paranoid about such a thing would be the person that you would trust when reviewing an item like this.  I have used many, many mattress covers in my day, so I bring to the table the experience and the knowledge of what a good mattress cover consists of. So when I say that this is a quality mattress cover, I think you can trust my opinion

When you zip this thing up, there's a little flap of velcro to cover the zipper pull

 The material is very thin. I have had to replace several of these covers throughout my home because they get small holes where the mattress rest against the bed frame. Normal getting in and out of bed and tossing and turning at night is enough to wear a hole in a couple of months. They need to reinforce the bottom where it touches the frame

 There is no way that the manufacturer is not aware of this commonplace breakdown. Typical 21st century design not intended for longevity. The material just doesn't hold up to everyday wear and tear.
