Pilot Acroball

Uni Jetstream or Pilot Acroball. They’re both standard ballpoints, not gel, and the ink is smoother. If you do still want to try gel, the Zebra Sarasa Dry is nearly instant drying.

Thought I had read the product description carefully. Apparently, I didn't. So, I was disappointed when these pens did not have colored ink. Well... not returning them but using them here in the office. They're not as silky smooth as other Pilot Pens - just functional and not worth the fancy colored...

For school note taking, gel pens are probably your best bet. Either that or a hybrid ink ballpoint like the Uni Jetstream or Pilot Acroball. You can find nicer pen bodies that take just about any refill you like, so I'd suggest trying a few varieties to find the refill (ink) that you like, then finding a pen that fits it. I thought these would be different color inks but they're all black-ink. The colors are just the outer decorations on the pens. I write for a living so I'm pretty particular about the tools I use to write with - Pilot pens work fabulously no matter what paper I use! I got these pens to review, but I have always been a Pilot fan - so I was delighted to get something I already love to review!

Uni Jetstream and Pilot Acroball are two of the best. They cost a bit, but they work very well.

I got this recently after someone had recommended it. I am pretty satisfied with it - it is fine point, similar to gel but doesn't seem to bleed through the paper usually, and the look of the pen itself is nice, too.

I saw some answers mention the Jetstream, but if you find the Acroball too slippery I doubt you will like the Jetstream.

I received these pens in a VoxBox free from Influenster for testing purposes. They're good, solid pens that write smoothly. Are they worth $5 for 3? Probably not, but they're a step above your average ball point pen.
