Patagonia Nano Air

It's got just your classic YKK, Bizlon zip, and yeah, all in all, for an insulation piece, I really like this jacket.

Now Spoiler Alert! I own this jacket, so I'm probably a little bit biased, but I absolutely love it.

Even if the face wets out, the water doesn't pass through all that quickly. Polyester insulation is pretty hydrophobic, the jacket has to get really wet before it gets to the wearer. I wouldn't wear it in heavy rain, but you'd stay warm in medium rain for quite awhile, so long as you could tolerate the jacket being wet. The face is pretty wind resistant, the fleece side panels are not.

I really like the jacket. It fits perfectly (I got a large, as I weigh 180 lbs). Rather than a fleece, you could consider wearing a lightweight vest such as the arcteryx atom LT or SL as your mid layer, or if you run cold, you could consider the Patagonia nano Air!

My Patagonia Nano-air vest. It’s super lightweight but extremely warm. Has 3 pockets and will pack up inside one to turn into a little pillow. Can pass for smart casual in a pinch but rugged enough to handle light rain and bad weather.
