I found another straight razor online that has a longer blade and this one needs to be stropped to keep the edge. Waiting for it to arrive in the mail. I think it will be better.

 The regular razors don't work that well at this. This SRX works  O.K. It comes with a few spare blades which you need because the blade gets dull fast

This is a nice tool looks good feels sturdy. Its the first shavete I have used and I'm not close to mastering how to use so I wasn't able to get a good shave but at least there was no blood shed. Lack of a good shave wasn't the tools fault but my total lack of experience. It was comfortable in my hands and blade alignment seemed perfect

  I changed the blade pretty frequently and still have not even scratched the surface of the blade pack I purchased which has 100 blades in it. I never thought that being so Frugal about shaving could end up giving me the best shave I've ever had in my life. Can't recommend this product enough.  Note* taking the blade out to trade out the blades with a new one can seem a little daunting but the easiest thing that I have found to do is to use your thumbnail to pry the security latch off and then from behind it use your thumb to just lift up on the top piece to expose the blade without having it anywhere in your trajectory of your finger

I also was never satisfied with the shave that I got, while it was a close shave, it was never a precise shave being that I also have a beard.  I purchased this product after reading a ton of reviews citing the only thing people were too concerned about were rust potential. As a result I purchased this and immediately started just wiping the blade clean on a paper towel or cloth sitting on my bathroom vanity while shaving rather than trying to rinse the hair

 This is actually been super favorable considering now I don't have to worry about all that hair going down the drain and potentially causing future problems. The shave itself is incredibly comfortable and probably one of the most comfortable shaves I've had despite having incredibly sensitive skin. I'm able to do very precise shaves that are also very close, and after a few uses I was no longer cutting myself. The recommended Barbershop trick of trying to shave a balloon is great for getting the hang of it quickly

 this tool, however, is for when you get the lighter touch, allowing the blade to do the work, which takes some time... sure, you could start with this one, of course, but you'll not fully appreciate the difference in its higher quality

This is one of those tools that when you start out, you think, why would I pay the extra $$$ for something that does the same thing as the cheaper version? Truly a Wow!

 So I started studying the technique of the straight razor. My barber uses on my mustache and lineup, but I always knew I would cut some major arteries if I tried to use one. But I searched, read many reviews and watched quite a few utube videos to learn more about it. So I narrowed the selection down and moved forward with this one

I am a DE razor user and I love it. I get great results from 99% of my shaves, but you know we always want more. So I started studying the technique of the straight razor. My barber uses on my mustache and lineup, but I always knew I would cut some major arteries if I tried to use one

the SRX does the work. I will eventually get to a full shave with this razor, but I respect the understanding and technique required to do that task. I am not there yet, but I am confident this is the right razor to get me there.

  All in all, I'm throwing this into the trash, because that's where it belongs.  I'm keeping my Facon straight edge, my Equinox, and my Dovo. This one is a piece of garbage, as is the stainless steel straight razor by Kingsmen products (that one is the same as the Equinox, but crappier material and 3 times the price with a different logo.  Keep away from this garbage

 I've never shaved with a straight razor and I was able to pick this up and shave after just looking up the correct way to hold it. If you already practice good shaving practices, this won't be hard to pick up at all. I nick myself just as much with DE razors, and if anything it's less severe when I'm using this razor. Not sure why

 Just be mindful of how the blade is positioned, and don't let it move across your skin any other way than straight.  Definitely highly recommend this. Works SO well on longer hair especially. Make sure you use good shaving practices

Uses 1/2 of a DE blade

 The stainless steel has nice weight and looks great. I've seen others that were less expensive, but were made of plastic or lighter materials. This one feels durable, and I hope it lasts. I've used it only a few times just for line-ups, and it worked perfectly

My only criticism is that it's difficult to open the razor to load new blades, but this will probably loosen over time

I'm actually glad about this at the same time, as I've heard other razors are too loose and the blade slides or falls out which can cause cuts (not interested in that). Updated Review: I have been using the SRX since 5 July 2016 and today's date is 28 May 2020. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. I love the way the blade clamp clicks when you apply pressure to let you know the blade will not move while you are shaving

The SRX Shavette is the closest thing to a Straight Razor I have ever found. The tool is well built, looks great and is well balanced. The product was delivered on time and in great shape.
