But it's nice to be able to review the Mask 004. Summary. * Pricey compared to other options but worth it. Feels very premium.

It seems like this might have been what happened with Mask 004 to some extent since there have been several restocks, but each one still feels super limited and exclusive. I'm sure I'm missing something that makes these options unviable, or that I'm missing an even better option. But with how quickly a lot of products have been selling out lately (I'm looking at you, Mask 004), and how much money I've dropped over time because of fear of not being able to get a product a really want from my favorite brand, I just can't help but think there could be a better way to gauge interest and help that to inform production size so that there would ultimately be more items sold and fewer disappointed Outliers.

early on in the pandemic i used other masks with that kind of pocket, and i slid sheets of surgical drape into the pocket. two layers of that gets a filtration level of N87, per my friends who work in surgical suites. i realize this would impact the folds, but it seems doable. with the coronavirus variants ramping up (i'm sure the Delta won't be the worst or last), and with the US continuing to bungle every aspect of managing the pandemic, both the culture and government, it would be rad to have a few masks as easy and comfortable to use as the 004, but that also afforded users having a known filtration level.

It has more surface area than most masks, and it extends up toward the eyes more, and underneath the chin more. With almost every mask I've worn, when I talk I can feel it either pulling up from the bottom or pulling down from the top, so I have to fix it constantly. The Mask 004 stays in place really well.

It probably comes down to head shape - personally I don’t really have a problem with mask 004 being too tall and covering my eyes. It sits a little higher and closer to my eyes than 002 and 003, but it doesn’t end up being uncomfortable on my ears at all.

Everyone else was fidgeting with their masks the whole time, as they were always sliding down their faces or slipping out of position; the Mask 004 stayed exactly where I set it up. But exactly because it is so adjustable, it always takes me a minute to get it onto my face. It's my mask of choice if I need to be masked for a long time, but it's a hassle if I'm going to be putting the mask on and off a lot.

Mineral Pink BB, FreeCo Cleans, CP, Mask 004 and plenty of forced perspective to make the Cleans look much skinnier than they actually are.

I don’t have mask 004, but my mask 001 is great with my glasses. I bent the metal wire so it contours to my nose, and I leave it that way. It fits snug and doesn’t fog.
