I currently use an Osprey Quasar 28, an EDC as my travel bag, but it is not not the best option. I usually go on week long trips and don't carry my laptop with me, so the laptop and tablet sleeves are useless and just take up space. Also it has several internal pockets which again take up extra space. The top loading is also not the best, but I can live with that.

This bag is a beautiful dark, cool gray-green. You can only tell it's green in brighter light, otherwise it looks gray. The branding is lovely and reflective. I use a backpack with built in padded sleeves (osprey quasar) and just toss the backpack in the pannier. Best of both worlds. I haven’t had any issues with the commute hurting the computer.
