Onyx Max Lumi 2

I would prefer the Max Lumi 2. There you can easily read any pdf, you want, you can synchronize via the standard android apps, you have splitscreen (vertical or horizontal, half-half notes and one document - you can also open various documents). It has bookmarks for pdfs, but I don't use them so often. You can synchronize the notes (or even use onenote directly).

Great that you can access text books online and also work out math problems without all the paper. But that home button just gets in the way. Dmn. Now I think I might have to put off buying that Onyx Boox Max Lumi 2 for academic reading. I'm looking forward to that smart refresh technology hopefully making pinching and zooming much easier so that I can settle for a 10 inch display.Frankly, I'd feel more secure with a big company because I hear so many problems with Onyx Boox customer support.

Rather buy a normal tablet. This device is not worth the price simply to have a grayscale reader and note pad.

If you can afford it, I would suggest you to go for Onyx Boox Max Lumi 2(/1). The screen size will be the same as A4, so you won't have any issues while reading academic papers. Otherwise you can go for a device from Onyx Boox Note series which is an A5 size device.

I moved heaven and earth to get this huge devices based on online reviews on youtube. all were unflinchingly positive, so it was surprising to me that the whole experience was absolutely negative but do keep in mind that we perceive the same things differently, so by all means watch the same videos....

Lumi 2 is to heavy for a "paperlike" feeling. There is also a better write feeling on the Quaderno.

I recently decided that with inflation, it's just not sensible to save too much and bought Onyx Max Lumi 2 and I haven't loked back. It also enables me to take notes during university lectures. If you have any intention of reading technical PDFs, even as a secondary purpose, this is the category for you. All of these support note-taking too.
