 The jacket features double side zips in the armpit, so for this warm day you can let the air flow. The Norrona Lofoten Jacket and Pants is  a great outfit for the splitboarder looking to stay warm and dry in the most extreme conditions. Superior design and quality, both are made of the most waterproof and durable fabric, Gore tex Pro, featuring all the seams are completely taped.

Starting from the Lofoten Jacket, with a weight of only 622 grams, it features anything you need to be protected from the elements. Lightweight but at the same time durable, and stylish enough to wear it after your splitboarding mission, removing the powder skirt very easily with only a zip. The water resistant zips in the five outer pockets and in the ventilation under the armpits combined with the Gore-Tex Pro membrane won't let any water drop go through your jacket, and a fully adjustable hood that fits either a helmet or a beanie will protect you from the elements.
Asymmetric cuffs and stretch hand gaiters to protect your hands and gloves from the snow and get the perfect fit while skinning or riding. 

The Lofoten Pants are a superior freeride piece of outerwear. Weighing 1051 grams, they feature an integrated zip off bib for the coldest and deepest days in the mountains. 
Lots of pocket to stash your belongings, they feature water resistant zips that along the legs that open almost from bottom to top. Aramid reinforcements in the lower part of the legs add more durability to these pants.
Baggy fit with custom-fit waist system and belt loops to find the perfect fit.

 So it might just be that it's new, it's taking a little while. But I'm about 5'11", oh I don't know, 60 pounds, 155 pounds. Really nice slim fit on the Nerona stuff. It's coming out of Europe

 It's got pit zips on it, but you know, honestly, this Gore-Tex Pro material seems to be nice and breathable. I haven't had to use the pit zips. If I do have to use the pit zips, I kind of think that maybe I'm using the wrong jacket at that point. So anyway, this is the Nerona Lofton Gore-Tex Pro

 Really nice slim fit on the Nerona stuff. It's coming out of Europe. I think it's out of Norway if I remember correctly. Nice length on the arms

 And oh, there's also the media pocket on the inside so you can put your device there. The only thing I don't recommend about this is if you're wearing an avalanche beacon, you never want to have your cell phone right there. So that's going to be kind of how the fit is. We're going to do a lot more of these fit videos this year

 I see jackets that are retailing for $400 that they've got nothing on this jacket. So yes, for a couple extra hundred bucks for a jacket that theoretically should last you a lifetime, I do think it is worth the price. So with that said, that's the Lofoten Women's GORE-TEX PRO Jacket.

 This one I feel like it's cut, it's tailored so well, but I feel like I can move and it has more of like that athletic look to it. They've got some zippers here. One, this pocket right here, it's pretty deep. I usually store my phone in this pocket

 The price is $6.99. That is very expensive for a piece of outerwear. However, do I think it is worth the price? Yes

Review: Women's Norrona Lofoten Gore-Tex Pro Jacket

 As we touched on above, the Hemispheres is one of the few shells that can compete with the Lofoten in terms of ventilation with OR’s unique poncho-style system called TorsoFlo, although I still overheated on high-output days. And in a departure from the designs above, the Hemispheres uses a mix 3-layer Gore-Tex with C-Knit and 2-layer Gore-Tex with Stretch, which translates to a minor step down in all-out protection but considerable boosts in both comfort and mobility. And you do save around 4 ounces with the OR, although we had a couple of fit and finish issues including an overly restrictive hood and narrow shape at the shoulders and waist. All told, the Lofoten is the more high-quality design with better protection and coverage for truly inclement alpine conditions, but the Hemispheres is fully capable for most backcountry pursuits and will save you a bit of cash

 Breathability I’ll start off by admitting that I rarely wear my hardshell when exerting and reserve it solely for truly nasty weather conditions, while transitioning, and when skiing downhill. That said, if temperatures are low enough (typically under around 15 degrees Fahrenheit), I can comfortably wear the Lofoten while ascending. Our top-rated ski shell this year is Arc’teryx’s Sabre AR, which hits a similar price point at $675. The Sabre uses a downgraded 3-layer Gore-Tex construction (no “Pro”), runs shorter down the back (with similar sizes, it's about a 2-inch difference), and has a more relaxed “regular” fit that can feel a little bulky on the skin track

 Our top-rated ski shell this year is Arc’teryx’s Sabre AR, which hits a similar price point at $675.  The Norrona has more ventilation and durability while the Patagonia has more pockets and RECCO technology. And then there’s the price: Patagonia’s $399 compared to $699 for the Norrona.

While the Lofoten GORE-TEX Pro jacket comes loaded with ample vents — on the front and two-way armpit vents on the sleeves — I never needed them. The recycled GORE-TEX is very breathable. The zip-off powder skirt snapped tightly around my waist ensuring no snow could get in on those big powder days, and the water-resistant zippers kept moisture at bay.

The jacket is intuitively built for backcountry skiers, likely because the designers are backcountry skiers themselves. Everything is where I needed it to be and fit as it should.

When putting the Lofoten up against another classic ski/snowboard jacket like the Patagonia Powder Bowl Jacket, the versatility and breathability are points of focus.
