[SOTC] From left to right: my flying watch, my travel watch, my everyday watch, my dress watch.
To me, the absolute platonic ideal of a watch, and—at 36mm—feels perfect on my wrist on the oyster bracelet. 4. Dress watch: Nomos Orion 39mm Neomatik, in nachtblau—I’d had my eye on a Nomos for a few years before spotting this one and finally pulling the trigger a couple of months ago. It’s stunning, so slim, and the strap is the most comfortable I’ve come across.
A Week On The Wrist: The NOMOS Orion
I was expecting a slender, refined and comparatively small watch – and this is exactly what I got. Its size makes the Orion a watch you can almost forget you’re wearing. This watch is definitely on the formal side, comparatively small and slender
[SOTC] Trying to cover the bases with this Four Watch Collection
I appreciate the large display, sapphire crystal and ceramic bezel and have put it on an aftermarket silicone strap. It is mainly used when biking, timing something on the BBQ and accompanying me on trips to the hardware store. NOMOS Orion collaboration with Ace Jewellers (2019) - I am a big fan of all that NOMOS is doing and appreciate their overall conviction and design philosophy.
[NOMOS] Orion 89 or 'Further attempts at becoming an adult.'
I have said to various people over the years that, when I grow up, I want a NOMOS Glashütte Orion. As I'm 41 and still not showing any real signs of becoming an adult, I've bought one anyway as I stumbled on this one being offered at a fantastic price. This is an 'Orion 89’ so it has a unique grey face and a different strap to other members of the Orion family. The basic shape is the same though and that's a good thing because I think it's one of the most elegant bits of industrial design you can buy at a vaguely sensible price.
Owner Review: Nomos Orion Weis – A little, big taste of Glashütte
But here’s the biggest thing for me: at RRP, I can’t say the Orion presents itself as “good” value.
[Wedding Watch?] Looking for a wedding watch to add to my collection of a Rolex OP, Shinola and G-Shock
Congrats on your upcoming wedding! I would wear the Rolex given the family history. If you ‘must’ have something new, but way under budget, few watches are elegant as a Nomos Orion. If you prefer JLC, maybe a Master Ultra Thin in steel.
[Discussion] Thanks! And I hate you.
Nomos Orion. This is my dress watch - I rarely dress up these days, especially since I've been working from home for almost 9 months, but even before it was a rare occasion. I still love the concept of a dress watch though, plus I like Nomos and being German myself, I always try to keep a German watch in the collection. It also looks great with smart casual outfits.
