If you have limited space in your vehicle or don't want a big, bulky jump starter taking up a bunch of room we'd highly recommend the NOCO Boost Plus GB40. This powerful little device is tiny in comparison to much of the competition, yet it has proven to be able to start every vehicle that we've tested it with. Many jump starters require that you wait for several minutes for the power to "trickle down" before you start your vehicle. With the GB40, you can enable "Boost Mode" which delivers a quick burst of power to your battery so that, in many cases, you can start it immediately. For those that have a tendency to be rough on their gear, this model has a certified IP65 waterproof rating.  It's a little warm As I mentioned at the beginning of this video, this is not designed For a v8 for a v8 for this 5.7 liter Um, we would ideally be using the gb-70 Which is the the next the next model up from the gb-40.  But you know, what is it like a year later or two years later? And another question I get a lot is well, what if it just sits in your car? Uncharged so like I say at least two months that this has been sitting in the synchro So we're going to take the gb-40 which by the way Is not designed to jump This is a 5.7. It's a vortec v8 This is designed for like six cylinder cars and below So we're going to take this now and we're going to hook it up to the truck and see if we can get it To fire up this old pickup truck Okay, so just to verify There's like I say there's not even we're not even getting dash lights This truck has been I I brought it out here to tear down a roof on an old barn last fall and so this truck's been sitting since It's been sitting probably six months. I just I didn't run it at all all winter and so it's completely dead The battery in it, I believe is six or seven years old So this will be a pretty good test of the gb-40 The two and a half year old gb-40 on a v8 with a seven year old battery Okay, all right, so yeah, actually man come over here real quick and look Eight of 2012

NOCO GB40 Jump Starter After 2 Years Of Use.  Does It Still Work?

 She can just grab this hook it up. Hit the button start the car Disconnect it throw it back in the trunk and be done Also, I really like that. It has the ability to charge your phone off of it So if you're just stuck somewhere and you need the ability to charge your phone You can use as a huge battery pack for charging your phone or your iPad or whatever I like that. It has the flashlights on it It does a lot of really cool things for for less than $100

 So I'm just kind of gonna start the car and we'll see what happens All right, so it absolutely works it starts it even if it's not connected to the battery at all Which is pretty cool. Obviously, you're not gonna have a situation where you're running directly off of it You're just gonna plug it in your battery Wait a minute as it charges it up and then and then try it off that but yeah, I'm really happy with this I think this is a lot easier to use obviously than jumper cables. It's obviously more expensive but just for the Ease of use the not having to worry about getting another car because cables are cheap Finding another car to park next to you is expensive in a lot of other ways So yeah, I'd highly recommend these I think this is the definitely the new hotness if you're ever worried about your car not starting honestly, if I would get these even with a newer car like this because We have certainly had times where the kids have left the lights on all night or they've left on You know all the interior lights on Becca's stuck at home with the kids. She just needs to get going for the day if she has to call triple-a They got a drive up

 See it's got this big Red doohickey on it here. That has a big plus on it. That's your that's your clue We'll hook up negative to negative and we've put some Nice expensive cloth dampers under there to make sure that they're not actually touching the battery and We will just Connect this sucker up. I have not actually done this before so I am as curious as you are So there's a little lights on here

 So all you need is one of these. These are the new the new hotness So you need one of these which one you need depends on kind of what engine you have But this one will handle up to a 6-liter gas engine, which is huge or a 3-liter diesel engine So this is gonna handle like 99% of all cases if you're asking, I don't know which one is right for me This one's probably right. They retail for about ninety two dollars on Amazon. I think right now they're up to about a hundred bucks But it's totally worth it I think just the peace of mind of having something that'll get you going again if your car is dead in the morning This thing is ridiculously easy to use

NOCO Genius Boost GB40 UltraSafe Lithium Jump Starter Demo and Review

So I had an incident traveling where my battery died and I needed one of these, so I bought it. I have a NOCO trickle charger that has worked great for me in the past, but this is nice to have on hand for a quick save. Can’t say that I’ve used it yet “in the field”, so I can’t comment on that. But I like the design and with the case I bought it’s really convenient

  Can’t give 5 stars though because the charging cable it came with didn’t work! I plugged it in, tried it with different power sources like a usb to wall cube, the car charger attachment, and my computer usb connection and it wouldn’t show it was charging. I grabbed another micro USB that I had lying around the house and it immediately started charging and finished within a few hours. So it appears all is well now, but the cord they sent me is crap. I didn’t bother to reach out to them over the cord since I had another one

 I've got my Toyota Veroza here, which has been sitting here for a few weeks, so I guarantee you it's got a flat battery. It's a six-cylinder, two-liter, so we'll see if this starts. Yeah, completely flat, so what we'll do is pop the bonnet and stick this on. So that's the leads on, what I'm gonna do is turn it on and hold this because the battery is really flat

Let me tell you guys, right off the bat these jump leads, total quality, they got some good clamping power to them. 7L V8 works perfectly. 2012 Chevy Terrain or GMC Terrain, the 3L V6, we're going to do the same thing we did with the RAM, disconnect both terminals so it's disconnected from the vehicle. The boost isn't reading any voltage, so we're going to turn it on again, it's still reading 100%, we're going to put it into the boost override, it's good to go, let's do it. Not even a hesitation, boosted it right away, perfect

 So the Noko GB40 is basically a battery pack that is powerful enough to jump start your vehicle. It's a great solution for keeping in your own car, because if there's no one around to jump you, there's no one around to jump you, and you can basically jump yourself, or at least that's what you can do in theory. There's a couple of different power options for this, so the GB40, and there's some other ones that are stronger. But I've never actually gotten to use this in a real-world test on dead battery
