 and I got the chance to ride the new 2023 Never Summer Snow Trooper. First off, I'm

 not sponsored by any brands, so any reviews are going to be completely unbiased. Never

 Summer advertises the Snow Trooper as kind of a Swiss army knife, kind of a go anywhere,

 do everything, one board quiver. This one has so much energy in it. It really does.

 It really blew me away. I've had fun riding the other Never Summers, but this has real

 energy in a turn. It propels you into the turn and all the turn. If you need help finding

 your next setup, hit the link in the description and get set up with a curated expert. So my

 initial impression of this board, I wasn't really sure what to expect. It's a five out

 of 10 flex. It's a five out of 10 dampness. So it's right in the middle. So it should

 be a really approachable board. When I first got on it, I could definitely notice the ease

 of turn initiation with that original rocker camber in there. So that has rocker between

 the feet with a short section of camber, and then it gets eases into the tip and tail.

 So what that's going to do for you is it's going to make it really easy to initiate those

 turns. And then once you get up on the edge, you're going to lock into those camber zones

 and it's going to hold a solid edge. Getting more into kind of some free riding terrain.

 There's a little bit of chatter under foot, but with that rocker in the middle, it makes

 it really nimble and quick. And to be honest, for being five out of 10 flex and five out

 of 10 on dampness, you know, it was pretty damp and it was really stable. Since it's

 a directional twin, you can also take this thing in the park. It's pressable, it's playful,

 it's engaging, switch regular. It's all good. You can hit jump switch, rail switch, whatever.

 This board is a great Swiss army knife, which is exactly what NeverSummer advertises the

 board as. Now for people I'd recommend this to intermediate through advanced riders are

 going to have a good time on this board. It can charge, it can turn, it can hop in the

 trees, it can hit jumps, it can spin. It does a bit of everything. I will say if you're

 going to be doing a lot more free riding and you're getting into a lot more technical steep

 terrain, you might want something that's a little bit more damp, a little bit stiffer.

 If you're a dedicated park rider, you might want something that's a true twin, very beginning

 beginners, I would say should stay off this. This would be a great second board. Once you're

 starting to build up confidence and you're starting to explore the terrain off of a green

 terrain, you're getting more into intermediate blue terrain, this would be a great option

 for you to step up to. But overall, the Snow Trooper was a lot of fun. So it doesn't matter

 if you're looking for your first setup or you're a seasoned vet, just looking to add

I purchased the 2023 Never Summer Proto Synthesis. I’ve seen tons of positive reviews online about the brand, but I’ve also seen tons of negative reviews online about the brand as well. People seem to praise their boards, but say they’re overpriced for the materials and quality of the board. 

What’s everyone’s thoughts on the brand and boards? I’ve always rented or used friend’s equipment, so I don’t have too much to base my comparisons off of. I’ve primarily rode on cheaper boards (i.e. Burton, Nitro, Rome, K2).

Never Summer Thoughts/Opinions

Graduating from my noobie gear after about 20 days of riding last season. Had a 156 Rome rocker/flat/rocker board with a medium flex. I spent those 20 days in size 10 boots for a size 9 foot, so I was dealing with a lot of heal lift and my toes were curling to push onto toe side. I picked up Burton Photons + Step On Genesis and they fit awesome, so that problem is solved. I don't know how to define my style, but I want a board for goofing around on while also being able to expand my reach on the mountain. Right now I feel comfortable enough to go down the blues, but I'm not charging down them yet. Rather, I'm just chilling and going slower so I can really practice turns, spinning, buttering, and switch. I'm embracing learning switch from the get go, so I tend to like the twin shapes. I really just want a good riding foundation going forward so I can hit all the jumps, side hits, and embrace freestyle stuff I guess. I like the warpig for the flat rocker profile that I'm used to, but hesitate since it's directional. Not sure what a camber board feels like by comparison. The Twinpig might do it, but it's cambered and I don't know if that would be good for me and my style. I want something I can grow into, learn on, and get better on. I also looked at the Jones Mountain twin, even the mind expander. I just don't know which direction to go. I'm also staring at the Burton Custom 2023 camber board heavily...it's just so damn pretty. Any help would be great. Money is a non-issue. Just want a good all mountain board that I can continue to improve my skills on for years to come.
