 So the zipper seems to have held up as well, which is really good and also really unlikely that you would have that sort of water hitting the zipper like that. For the first water test, I would say that the Milliken Smith roll pack did very well. I think having the spray bottle helps to show a more average scenario where it's raining or you're getting water on your backpack somehow, but it's not like a torrential downpour, which in those cases usually people try to get inside fairly quickly because of how much rain is coming down. We've got a good base here to see how well this will perform in the shower water test so I'm interested to see what will happen

 I'd wipe away here before opening it just because I would never want to open a laptop pocket with water sitting near it and then taking a look. Doesn't seem like anything has gotten in and this lime green sort of color I imagine would probably be pretty obvious if water was on it. For some reason, I’m just in love with rolltop backpacks. Maybe it’s bc i live in NYC and see bikers using them all the time but all i know is i want one.

I’ve been looking to get a quality rolltop backpack with a decent amount of pockets to store random shit. I would also want the backpack to be quite expandable if i need to use it to travel but also want to be able to carry around casually with my laptop and some other things (maybe around 25-30L that can expand to 40L if possible lol).

Ive been eyeing the ILE Default XL backpack which looks quality and expandable and at the same time compressible. Anyone with experience with the ILE Default? Any opinions on any other good rolltop back? Any advice welcome!

 I'Ve got my max position edc kit, but this front compartment is a really handy little compartment just to store some quick access gear behind this front compartment. There is actually a little slip pocket here which allows you to store some other gear, so i've just got a hat in there, but you could probably store in maybe a rain jacket or maybe a rain cover for this bag if you're really cautious about rain. But you can store anything in there. It'S just a big empty space for you to store some extra gear now, as mentioned, this is a rolltop backpack, so it is secured down by another aluminium g hook that hooks into this leather loop here and that allows us to unfurl our roll top okay

 So this is my auba key and i've just got it hooked onto this little key teller, which is kind of useful, and on this side we have the laptop compartment. So you don't have to go through the main compartment or the roll top to get to your laptop it's accessed from the side. This is my 13-inch macbook pro retina and it'll fit in there very easily. This can fit up to a 16-inch macbook

Minimal & Lightweight Outdoor Backpack - The Millican Smith Rolltop Backpack 25L

Male travel nurse here, been using Fjallraven 20l as my work back pack the last year or so and am finally fed up. It's too small, gets dirty af and can't fit my h20 bottle comfortably. Looking for something probably in the 25L range that can hold a (very small) binder/folder, a dinner sized meal prep container, a side pocket for a 24-40oz hydroflask and maybe a few extra smaller pockets for a stethoscope, wallet/keys, backup glasses and maybe to fit an n95 with out crushing it. Perfer 2 bag slots or at least one divider, I've had my food juices spill on my paperwork and that's always embarrassing. Pretty much have black or dark blue everything, would love that color scheme, Oh and something that cleans up easy in the outside with clorox/bleach/sani wipes.

Not quite the perfect backpack but really great

 We haven't worn this in hot temperatures, but that would definitely help out with any sort of like sweaty back or anything like that. The sternum strap here on the one side. It is just a kind of folded over uh nylon here that just runs through, and then you can adjust that between these two and then there's a sewing point here and then three more above now. This is definitely not our favorite kind of sternum strap it's going to take a minute to adjust versus if it was a clip or on a rail that you could just slide it

 It would just make everything a lot easier to see, but overall, as long as you use like a tech pouch or something like that or other little pouches for organization - and you don't need to worry about the admin panel as much. This is a lot better. Just because you know, if you don't want to have to roll it down every time, this is kind of what you're looking at. I mean there's just a lot of fabric on top here that you got to deal with so as long as you can kind of use it as a like a bigger dump sack this is a very comfortable bag to use and the sleek look

 You really need to get the zipper. All the way open and it can kind of get stuck on some of the gusseting once you get towards the end here, because there is kind of like a little sewn pocket for the zipper to go into. So you got to make sure you get it all. The way past this, as you can see there and also too just uh, sometimes the shoulder, strap attachment point here - will kind of get in the way

This would definitely do better with even a 15 inch would probably help or a 13 inch would fit no problem in there, so that just slides in you do have a tiny bit of a false bottom here, maybe an inch inch or so, and so that'll, the Stiff frame sheet will kind of hit before your laptop does so that'll help protect your laptop and then on this gusset here

Millican Smith Roll Pack 18L Review (2 Weeks of Use)

I purchased this bag a week ago to use as a general cycling bag and daily caryall, but unfortunately it already needs to be returned.  The main reason for the item needing be returned is that some seams on the shoulder strap already ripped, after only four days of use.  I also find the shoulder straps to be quite uncomfortable, for one they are anchored above your shoulders too closely together and tend to rub on the neck, and second is that they do not distribute load weight very well, my shoulders become sore from carrying 10lbs of stuff for 15 minutes.

 As you can see with the way this is packed out, this is packed out to the brim with everything for minimal one pack travel. This thing has internal organization on the small pocket up front, in the main pocket on the inside for a great commuter or daily carry bag and it is great for rucksack hang and we will get into all of those and how they can be utilized right right now. let's get into it.   I liked that it was sturdy and had lots of great pockets.  The side pockets could actually hold my 32 oz hydro flask which pretty rare.  Unfortunately my issue was with the laptop pocket.  While it could hold my husband's 15" Macbook Pro nicely, it didn't even come close to holding my Dell 5520
