See, it has a ton of neck dive so it's hard to hold and play in your lap without a strap.

(Martin Backpacker; Travel Guitar, et al.) If you're looking for something more traditional, then something like a Taylor Mini *might* fit. (Or a Tanglewood TW2t for cheaper alternative but still decent playing.). I sent my Backpacker, along with one of my boys, on a 3 month road trip around the US this past summer, in a van full of teenagers, and it faired quite well.

It works as a travel guitar. But the sound doesn't live up to Martin standards. But then it wouldn't be small as travel guitar. The sound sounds like one of those cheap guitars, not like a Martin. Washburn Rover is good and tiny. Watch out for humidity issues on your boat, though.

The Taylor GS Mini in my opinion is one of the best travel / mini guitars. Can't go wrong with one, and they sound great.

I see quite a few recommendations for the Martin Backpacker ... yeah it's compact, but it sounds awful (again, my opinion).

I wish this guitar sounded bettter. I love the shape alhtough its a little to long for what i wanted. I think that it definitley will have people who love this guitar. However it wasn't for me. I think that it should be a better quality sound. Its too tinny. I want to return it.
