So yeah, I've actually been really enjoying the Y700, especially using it in PC mode.

I had a bulky, heavy, noisy Lenovo Y700-15ISK for 3 years and it was so difficult to take it with me anywhere. After I upgraded it, it weighed around 3 kg and that's without the huge battery that comes with it.

Looking for an iPad Mini alternative

In short: Lenovo tablets just do not sell well enough to justify the engineering expense for security updates. I think Google could compel manufacturers to provide more support, but they haven't been doing a whole lot for customers. I also prefer Android, but there's nothing else in the weight/size category. There's only the Y700 and iPad Mini.

The upcoming Y700 Lenovo is very promising indeed. For now, the best 8-inchers Android are:. Tab Active3, Mediapad M6 Turbo which are expensive and hard to find. Another are Mi Pad 4 8" and Tab A8 2019 S-pen.

:** CPU better than Snapdragon 855. Similar weight (or lighter) than the Galaxy Tab s6 (14.8 ounces). I'd get an iPad mini but I prefer Android. The Lenovo y700 tablet seems good but I don't know of any good sellers in USA.
