What inspired me was that I’m about to join my local volunteer EMS service as a first responder, and several future colleagues recommended the Leatherman Raptor Shears as an indispensable tool for the job. But since my Leatherman EMS discount of 40% applies to up to 3 items, I’m thinking of using this opportunity to buy a new everyday-carry multitool as well. Needless to say, the tools landscape has changed a bit in the last few years, and I’m a bit overwhelmed what to choose.

I'm an ER nurse and I usually carry a pair of shears with me all the time when I'm working. These are great for the purpose of cutting off clothes in an emergency or just for medical type cutting work. They'll easily cut through almost anything. I'd imagine they're pretty good for EMTs, medics, etc....
