Wow, what a tent
Wow, what a tent! For a large 10x14 footprint, set up was fairly simple- almost too much so. My first impression was that the flex frame didn't look nearly strong enough to stand up to adverse conditions, but was I ever wrong.
While the tent is incredibly stuffy in high temps (East Washington desert...
What camping item would you consider a game changer for tent camping?
Kodiak canvas tent, or other similar springbar canvas tents are absolutely the best upgrade to tent camping I've ever made. No more waking up damp on the morning as they don't get condensation. They are quiet in wind, durable and waterproof in the rain.
Best bad weather tent can survive what most cannot
After 5 years of ownership this tent never ceases to amaze me. 2 years ago I purchased a small camper and my 3 children sleep in a tent. I was reluctant to let them use my kodiak tent after they went through 3 tents in the last 2 years but I couldn't afford to spend another 150 on a tent that would ...

I owned the Springbar tent and after one of last year’s trips it was stolen out of the back of my truck. So needless to say I needed a replacement. I decided to go with the Kodiak for less money than the Springbar.
After a year and plenty of trips I have no complaints. The Kodiak has held up in heav...

Edit: Since first posting this review - I've had this tent out on three more camping trips. All of them have been 5 - 7 days. The last two (one in Fall 2018, and 2019 Memorial Weekend/Week) I've experienced many days of rain, and a few days of all out storms. Last fall, I lost my canopy and some oth...
Camping again, but now in style.
My family and I went camping for the first time in 1993. It ended in a disaster thanks to rain, lightning, high winds, a thunder storm, and a tornado touching down nearby. My wife swore we would never camp again. After trying for 23 years she agreed to go camping with our church and I knew I'd bette...
10x10 constant use
I spend much of the year sleeping outside, frequently in a tent. In the warmer months I use the Kodiak 10x10 and in the colder months a regular wall tent.
I set up the Kodiak in about 15 minutes max. As others have noted staking takes the most time. It is very simple for one geezer to accomplish...
Like the size of your child's bedroom huge
First, this tent is HUGE. Like the size of your child's bedroom huge. You can fit a king size mattress, dresser, crib, 65 inch tv with console stand, maybe a coffee table in this thing and still have room to move around. It is also surprisingly easy to set up. I can do it by myself in about ten minu...
