 I had high expectations for this knife after having read the YT reviews and read the Amazon reviews. I was sorely disappointed.  Sure, this only a $20 knife, so my expectations should be set accordingly, right? Yeah, but the competition is so fierce at this entry-level price-point that I really can't recommend it. The many Gerber and Kershaw Made-in-China knives seem like a much better value proposition for me

 Light weight  Cons: 1. Very stiff opening action, even after trying to break it in a few days. 2. Back lock metal is sharp -- not rounded and almost dangerous

  Recommendation: Skip this knife. Yes, it will do the job, but I doubt you will enjoy using/owning it in the long run. I'm sure you will be happier with Kershaw's Oso Sweet, Valmara, RJ Tactical, Chill; or an Ontario RAT II in AUS-8. Gerber's LST or E-Z Out might also be a nicer choices

"Meh" Knife

  It took a good day or two or use of opening and closing it to get it to loosen it A LITTLE BIT. Opening the blade with the thumb stud still totally sucks and is not recommended for opening. I’ve had better luck opening the knife like a traditional pocket knife (by gripping the blade at its halfway point) than with any other method, as it’s by far the easiest and least painful on my thumb.  (In fact, I have a feeling the version of this knife with the Spyderco-like blade hole would be the better bet, as at least the pain associated with using the thumb stud would be substantially lessened

 I've cut lots cardboard, a few zip-ties and opened packages with it. Black Teflon coating wears quickly. The blade play is with the lock-up, not the pivot screw. It's not a matter of tightening the pivot, it's slight movement with the back lock so when you squeeze the blade between two fingers and press the handle as if putting cutting pressure on the blade you'll feel it "click"

 This is due to a stiff lockback spring and a not smoothly machined cam on the blade. It doesn’t improve with use.  The blade was not well machined. The tip was not symmetrical

I've used it for cutting cardboard, opening letters and slicing an apple and it has excelled at all those tasks. I haven't had to use it to defend myself from a horde of zombies, but the fact that I find it comfortable to wear and have with me when out and about provides me comfort should the situation arise. For the price I believe this is one of the best EDC knives available

5 inches, which is the legal limit in my area, that it be under 3.oz in weight and be relatively thin. This knife meets all those requirements. Then I look for build quality including blade steel and this knife for being ~$20 is very well made and steel is quite decent

 My knife requires two hands to open. This is a distinct disadvantage in a pocket clip knife. Overall-worth the reasonable price, but a poor choice for self defense.

My only complaint is that the thumb stud only sticks out on one side of the blade. You CAN swap it to the other side, but that takes time and a torx wrench. I'd like to be able to more easily open the knife with whichever hand I have free.

A sturdy day-to-day workhorse

Everybody doesn't need a $150 knife. Everybody doesn't even want a $150 knife. This Dozier design folder is cheap but worthy of consideration if all one wants or needs is a basic locking knife that doesn't cost a fortune. Lightweight due to the linerless design, sharp due to the good quality AUS8 steel of the blade and ergonomic by design
