options I see at nice discounts include K2 Disruption 78ti, Head SS e-magnum and various Salomon skis in the sforce bold and fx76/80/ti varieties. How wrong could I go with these? Somehow I'm leaning mostly towards the K2s. The sforce bold I figured might be too much ski for me and it's difficult to find so many reviews about the other Salomons.

 The turn initiation is very easy on this ski. It doesn't make you work that hard. If you really stand on it and push through it, you can find a speed limit. You can push through this ski but you're only going to find that at kind of the top end of the speed range

 So it does make that GS style turn. You know, just loves to go edge to edge, rip these carved turns. As you can see, it loves to be on edge like that. But just a really fun overall frontside ski with a little bit of width to it, a little bit of rocker to make it more accessible

 That Aspen does a great job of keeping the ski nice and smooth and stable. We get power wall from K2 here. So this beefed up sidewall underfoot lines up well with the titanal I-Beam here. So full width metal underfoot on top of that extra sidewall gives great grip torsional stiffness underfoot

 Nice flat shovel there and then that tapered shape really bows out to the very end. That's going to make that turn initiation phase really instantaneous, really grippy. Does a good job of not being too demanding though. Thanks to that I-beam shape, you're not full width metal at the very end of the ski
