 Okay, three, two, one, let's jam. Hi, I'm Edward Oh for TFB TV and today we're taking a look at the Jericho 941. So this is a 9mm handgun made in Israel and there are three different sort of variations on these, of these on the market that I'm aware of. You get the Baby Eagle, as it's called from Magnum Research, you get the new Jericho from IWIUS, and then you get the Jericho 941, which is what this is, and this is from IWI Israel

IWI Jericho 941 Review: The Israeli 9mm Handgun

 Hi, I'm Edward Oh for TFB TV and today we're taking a look at the Jericho 941.

 So this is a 9mm handgun made in Israel and there are three different sort of variations

 on these, of these on the market that I'm aware of.

 You get the Baby Eagle, as it's called from Magnum Research, you get the new Jericho from

 IWIUS, and then you get the Jericho 941, which is what this is, and this is from IWI Israel.

 Both IWIUS and IWI Israel make these handguns in steel frames and polymer frames.

 I'm not a big fan of the polymer frame personally, but I really like the steel frame, I've actually

 The IWIUS version has a frame mounted safety, whereas the Israeli version has a slide mounted

 decocker, and really that decocker is the fundamental limitation of this firearm, that's

 The Jericho is built very, very similar to a CZ75, in fact they take the same mags, although

 the rest of their components are different.

 That magazine compatibility is kind of a double edged sword, it's awesome because it means

 you can pick up more affordable magazines, you can try out all kinds of different aftermarket

 manufacturers, but it also means that there's sometimes some reliability issues depending

 So I have a handful of magazines that won't lock the slide back on this handgun.

 This version is in 9mm, but you can buy them in 9mm, 40 Smith & Wesson, and 45 ACP as well.

 Because this is an Israeli gun, you also get a lot of Israeli aftermarket support, so you

 can get tritium sights from Meprolite, or a whole host of injection polymer molded holsters

 from all kinds of different manufacturers.

 You can also get an aftermarket hoe grip for this, if textured finger grooves are your

 You'll notice the Jericho has a really small slide on it compared to lots of other 9mm

 I really like this in terms of grip, I feel like there's a lot of space to make contact

 with, but the limitation of that is that if you are the kind of person who does a press

 check using forward stirrations, there's really nothing to grab onto up here.

 Most of the versions you'll find on the shelf now have the accessory rail on the bottom.

 I kind of wish I could find some of the original 90s style.

 Because that slide mounted decocker means you cannot carry cocked and locked, now you

 have all these issues about are you using your safety, is your safety on, are you using

 double action for your first trigger pull, this is all really important if you're carrying

 the handgun, which as a Canadian I'm never doing.

 And admittedly it does have a fairly hefty double action pull, but I find that it has

 I'll end up saying this in lots of other videos I'm sure, but for me, as long as the fundamental

 handgun works, the best handgun choice for you is the handgun that you have the most

 Disassembly is really straightforward, very similar to a CZ75, you line up your detents

 and then push your slide release through and that's also your takedown pin.

 The Jericho 941 was also one of the very first handguns to use polygonal rifling, so instead

 of a traditional rifling when you look inside it looks like somebody pushed an octagon through

 If you look at the slide on this you can see that it's very very slim, there's not a lot

 of mass to it, and really the only point to grip is at the back in sort of a slingshot

 Fortunately the slide release on this is a nice large paddle and I find it really easy

 So I do want to talk about my other Jericho, my open gun, that began life as a compact

 with an extended barrel because in Canada anything under 4.1 inches is a prohibited

 gun rather than a restricted gun, and I don't want to go too deep into legal ramifications

 of that, but essentially a restricted gun I can buy with a license, a prohibited gun

 I can only buy if I was around and had a license in the 70s.

 That's sort of the rough and dirty of it, and that Jericho has since sort of ballooned

 into an interesting project, and something that I really think needs some professional

 At this point it's quite a large gun, and it is an open gun, but it's a little bit

 However, I do love that compact, and I have taken that to a number of competitions in

 Canada and in the United States, I was lucky enough to shoot that at the MGM Ironman several

 And like the mil-spec standard, it is a very smooth shooting with fireman.

 A few stats on these, so my stock Jericho is 2 pounds 6 ounces, while my open Jericho

 is 2 pounds 9 ounces, even with all the crap on it, but the main reason for that of course

 is that it's got that compact frame and compact slide.

 The single action pull on both handguns is 3.5 pounds, whereas the double action pull

 I've had this handgun for almost 5 years now, and put, oh god, several thousand rounds

 through it, I'm going to say somewhere between 3 and 5 thousand rounds.

 I initially picked up this handgun because I had a Tavor, and I needed obviously an Israeli

 But since then it's really grown on me, it's easily the handgun that I'm most comfortable
