 But it's a clever workable design, so they're being compensated for that I suppose. Safety suggestion: For extended driving at highway speeds, tie a safety cable to your bike and secure to your truck - just in case.

Not happy that they skipped the heat treat or used cheap Chinese steel to cut costs. I will update my rating If they give me another clamp.  UPDATE: I contacted the customer service and they requested pictures of the rounded threads. They offered to replace the whole clamp and brace free of charge

They definitely scratch the bike where it attaches.. Also they're not very durable if you use your pick up for anything you will need to take them out when using the bed they will bend very easy

Works ok

This is a well constructed bike clamping system that makes hauling your bike around in the bed of your truck super easy while keeping it fixed in place very securely. It works perfect in my 2012 F-150. It installs in about 15 minutes the first time because you have to tweak the positioning of each clamp so that it lines up with the frame and fork of the bike. Once that was done, and I had the bike securely strapped into the clamps, I scratched a little mark in the plastic bed rail protector on my truck to mark the exact positioning of each clamp for future reference

 I've been using the grippers on a 2003 Ford F-150 6' bed with no problems.  So far, I have been happy with the product. My mountain bike is very secure when using this product. It does not seem to move during normal driving, even when driving quickly around turns

  On great feature about this product is the size. It is very small and can be stored easily in the garage or the truck. This is important because unfortunately, people have ample opportunity to steal bike racks when your vehicle is parked and you'll be on the trails for hours! It is also nice simply because it doesn't take up much room. Many bike racks are large, heavy, and awkward to store

 For even more security on bumpy roads or trails, I recommend using a couple of bungee cords attached to the bike and the truck bed's tie down loops to keep the bike from bouncing up & down. While I don't think the bouncing will hurt the bike, I am concerned the grippers will fatigue and crack over time if this movement is not prevented.  On great feature about this product is the size. I've owned the Inno Velo Gripper Truck Bed Bike Rack for Standard Pickups for approximately 30 days and have used it several times. In fact, I've just ordered a second set for my wife's bike. I've been using the grippers on a 2003 Ford F-150 6' bed with no problems.  So far, I have been happy with the product

Fits my truck and bike well, very secure.

 Would have been much better if the arms were 1" longer in order to provide more clearance between the bike and the wheel well. This was very important since my bike has disc brakes on the non-drive side (side without the crank) making it impossible to strap the bike to the retaining arms on that side (disc brake side of the bike.) Ugh! This meant the bike could only be strapped to the arms with the crank very close to the wheel well. Again, another inch or so on the arms would have easily remedied this problem

Great concept, but needs a few modifications. Bought these for an '03 Toyota Tacoma with a plastic bedliner. Due to the style of the bed liner, I had to remove it in order to install the C-clamps. The hinged bottom of the C-clamp proved to be problematic and made it impossible to tighten the clamps to the truck until I removed the liner

 If the system works as hoped for, it will have been worth it. Be sure to mark your final clamp placements on the truck or you will have to start all over again trying to find suitable clamping locations the next time you use the system.

You may have a difficult time fitting the clamps to the appropriate support bars of your bike as the plastic clips that hold the bed-liner cap plates to the truck will invariably be exactly in the wrong place when you try to align the Gripper clamps. You will not be able to clamp tightly where there is a clip

A pretty good way to provide reasonable security to hold your bike in the bed of your truck. After getting one, I liked well enough to order a second. Biggest call-out is to be sure you know your bike fits -- wheels around the wheel well as well as the bike fitting in the length of your truck bed. I have a 6

I have a 6.5' bed but my fat bike barely fits (with tailgate closed.) I took it down to 4 starts since it is easy enough to install but you have to mess with them a bit to get in the exact right spot to match your fork/frame and then if you take it out you will have to do it all again the next time you want to use it
