 tip rocker on this guy and a little early taper so it can definitely deal with the

 soft stuff as well. Does have a turned up tail but I definitely see it as more

 of a directional twin. Likes medium range

Thank you everyone, I went to the store and bought the Icelantic Pioneer 86. I was going to buy the 182cm but they told me to get 174’s since I’m an average skier.

Tomorrow I will return to my local ski shop to buy my first set of skis. I have been to multiple stores and talked to 5 boot fitters. They have helped me narrow down my options to these three options (they are all about the same price). 

I am 6’4’’ 210lbs. I have only ski’d about 20 days last year so I am not a expert but I can ski. I ski mainly Colorado greens and some easier blues.

What would you pick if you had the option of the three and why? Any guidance is greatly appreciated. 

Boots I will be using Atomic Prime Hawx 100.

Icelantic Pioneer 86 vs Kendo 88 vs Elan Ripstick 88

 Absolutely love these skis. They perform great in the front face of the mountain with a 96 underfoot. It's going to do really well in deeper snow but it's also going to hold it's edge on that icy kind of cruddy front face if you don't have the best conditions.  Tons of float, tons of surfy feeling, throwing snow

 everywhere, slashes, deep stuff. This ski is awesome. Can definitely jump

 it around, can cruise on the few runs that got groomed last night.

 At high speeds this ski does have a little bit of a chatter to it which

 got me out, but overall this is a ski that's awesome for someone who just wants to shred

 the entire mountain. Advanced, expert level skier, you're going to love this ski.

 So I'd recommend these Pioneer 96s for anyone wanting to adventure pretty much any terrain. I think that's part of the reason why they're called the pioneers. So you can take them into the woods, you can take them into the moguls, you can take them on groomers, on that ice, in the park. It's soft enough, it has enough forgiveness that beginners would be happy

 I took it in moguls. I took it in groomers, and it handled all those scenarios very well. Honestly, I don't think there's any terrain I would avoid on these. Maybe it's not the best park ski, but besides that, everything else, it really excels very well

 Today I got the opportunity to ride the Icelandic Pioneer 96s. They were fun.

 I'm unaffiliated and unsponsored, so my feedback is unbiased.

 This is an all-mountain ski with reduced tail rocker, so it's not as buttery as the Nomad.

 These really hold up better. They didn't chatter.

 The edge-to-edge transition is nice, clean, smooth.

 These have a poplar power core. No metal stringers, no reinforced, so again,

 it's got a well-balanced flex throughout the ski.
