HyperX Cloud II

A friend had both the Audio Technica M20X and HyperX Cloud II headphones. I tried both with my phone (flac file - Rock music), and the M20X was absolutely horrible. It sounded like and old radio. In contrast, the hyperX headphones felt more alive and definetely clearer.

Gaming headsets don't have to be just for gaming. Any good set can also work well as regular stereo headphones, as long as they have a 3.5mm connection and sound good, and the boom mic doesn't get in the way. However, most gaming headsets embrace brightly colored highlights, sharp lin...

I have a separate mic so I dont need a mic on the headphones. Previous headphones have always made me sweaty, fatigued and just plain uncomfortable.

for Classical. HyperX Cloud II: Very comfortable.

For the past couple of years I've been using a HyperX Cloud ii. So, not a great pair, however part of the reason I am making this post is because I have just sent back some HiFiman Sundara's, because the sound quality was only marginally better, and absolutely did not justify 4x the cost. Maybe it's because I also just plugged them into my PC, which will be the only use of the headphones I intend to buy. I live alone in a quiet area, so I don't care for things like wireless or ANC, although these features wouldn't necessarily bother me.

I've been using *Bose Noise-Cancelling Q35 II* headphones (which many of my colleagues also use) and after hearing how THEIR microphones came through I very swiftly shifted to *HyperX Cloud II* headphones. These are gaming headphones and I cannot fully recommend them as they aren't small, slick or easy - BUT the quality of the microphones is a game-changer. While the Bose headsets have a lovely sound, they simply aren't made for actually having calls and meetings, and you can tell.

Unless you are one, you probably won’t appreciate the difference in audio quality. Plus, they will probably run you over budget. I’ve had my HyperX Cloud II for a few years now. It’s true that the audio quality isn’t the best, but my GF can’t tell the difference between them and my Audio Technica’s and the build quality is great.

I had recently the same situation, had a HyperX CloudII and wanted to replace it with the Razer Blackshark v2 Pro. After putting the blackshark on my head for 5 sec, i knew i had to return it just because of the buildquality. It feels very fragile and is very light (which is the point i guess), but it still felt like it was way overpriced and cheaply made.

My friend bought HyperX Cloud II for gaming even though I tried to convince him to buy Beyerdynamic Custom Game (he wanted to have a mic on the headphones so DT770 wasn't an option).

I just bought the HyperX Cloud II headset, and the sound is great and directionality is good (important to me), but they are very heavy/bulky and uncomfortable. I am now looking into the Philips SHP9500, but I am seeing that their audio directionality (where footsteps are coming from in Valorant, for example), is not good. I like the idea that they are open back and not noise cancelling, though.
