Verdict

The Hisense U800GR is a highly recommended mid-range TV with great 4K HDR support and a user-friendly Roku TV platform. Its VA panel displays deep blacks, but its native contrast ratio is not as good as 4K TVs with VA panels. The occasional image scrambling issue has been greatly improved in this model, delivering exceptionally smooth motion and picture quality. The U800GR is Hisense's first 8K LED TV available in the United States, only available in a 75 inch size. While it can't quite match the superb black levels of Hisense's own Dual Cell TV, it still achieves impressively deep blacks thanks to a full array local dimming system. The inclusion of Android TV means the U800GR offers full support for Google Assistant, allowing users to simply ask their TV for information which is then read back to them and also displayed on-screen. The U800GR's speakers are just okay, not quite living up to the high standard set by Hisense
