This book is a pretty good study companion to the PMBOK guide. I just took my PMP certification exam today and passed !

I recently passed the PMI PMP certification exam on my first attempt. The resources I used were: Rita's Exam Prep, the PMBOK guide from PMI and practice test questions at www.pmtraining.com. I also downloaded some flashcard iPad apps and explored youtube videos, but didn't get much value from them.

I passed the test on the first try, so the book must have helped. This book provided about 408 practice questions, which is helpful. Overall the book is a massive improvement over the PMBOK (the official PMI material) - the PMBOK is simply not made to be read by humans.

That being said, different learning strategies work for different people. For someone with great memory and time on their hands, the PMBOK is sufficient.
