Gregory Denali 75 Pack
Decent Design (But Sternum Strap Falls Off)
I'm generally pleased with the pack, though I haven't put it to a truly grueling hike. It was the best fit I could find and is well designed for mountaineering: crampon lashings, compression straps, C of G close to the body. But I'm baffled about the design of the sternum strap, which simply slides ...

The backpacks bottom is very narrow making it hard to stuff a 0 degree down sleeping bag because of this everything is higher in the pack which makes it top heavy. Another downside to a narrow bottom is the pack will never stand up which is a huge inconvenience on the side of steep snow slopes. Also...

About perfect, but for one small thing
I have used this pack for a few backpack trips, and I can say that it works well. Over all, it's a stream-lined pack that's rugged, simple, and practical.
First off, I find it very comfortable. I've used it with upwards of 40 pounds over off-trail terrain and unmaintained trails, and I've never ...

This is supposed to be an expedition pack for long climbs or distances. Well let me tell you, after taking it on just a 3 day trip it left bruises on my hips, lower back, and my shoulders felt as if they couldn't go on anymore. The measurements for this pack are not correct for aligning it with your...

Love this pack for the appropriate use
I have taken this pack on a few mountaineering trips and have found it extremely comfortable and capable for the appropriate uses. It's a bit of a heavy pack compared with some of the alternative brands, but given the suspension that it comes with, I am willing to sacrifice a little extra weight in ...

Clear lots of thought went into these. I use this as my all around climbing pack, holds a ton of gear really well but can be lightened up fairly easy if needed. Gets a lot of use (100 days a year) and still looks nearly new. Tons of well thought out compartments. This thing is great.
My only compla...

A bit hot on the back on a hot summer day but perfect on the winter and snow camping trips
Solid, basic design. Well made. A bit hot on the back on a hot summer day but perfect on the winter and snow camping trips. Heavy use so far without any problems: 30 days use from purchase last May. Comfortable and stable as things get at 60-65lb pack weight on my 6"2' 190lb frame while on X-country...

Quality pack with great features, not the most comfortable
This pack is excellent for longer expeditions where you need to hold a ton of gear and food. Lots of great organizational features, and overall just very smartly designed. My only complaint is the edges of the pad on the lower back can be extremely irritating if you are only wearing a baselayer.
