Osprey bags?
While the GR3 is an awesome TSA-friendly travel ruck, if I'm going into the mountains for days or backpacking across long distances I'd take an Atmos AG, hands down. The point of rucking is to add a stressor to an otherwise easy activity to make it more challenging, while the point of a hiking pack is to minimize load-related fatigue so as to be able to cover more distance, move at a faster pace, minimize fatigue, and so on.

Black Friday - Letdown or Nah?
Yea it’s different for sure. Think I was spoiled by the discounts in the second half of 2019 (MACV-1s for $99, Kit Bags in stock and on sale, etc). Would be cool to see some new colorways pop up or the GR3 to go on sale again.
GR2 Compression Straps
I went for two straps on each side, like on my GR3. I totally get the argument for simple and sleek, but those straps have a ton of utility. It's nice to cinch things down when overloaded, and its nice to tighten things up when there's a lot of slack/slop.

So these bags...
no big deal. i like the rucker for carrying a weight on my back for exercise, and i like the GR3 for travel. i've had a number of different bags for travel, especially air travel, and they get beat to shit within 1-2 years. i don't begrudge anyone else their favorite travel bag though.

Best Bag in the World
The quality of this bag is awesome. I’ve had and abused the Bullet Ruck for a few years now, and the GR3 feels just as well built. It’s the quality I’ve come to know. I love how massive this bag is, too. It’s very comforting knowing that I don’t need to carry anything in the airport when traveling; ...

Very confused by this sub
On a personal level, I really like my GORUCK bags. I have a GR1 for edc that I got for Christmas years ago, a GR2 and GR3 for travel, and a Rucker 2.0 with a 30# plate and a 60# sandbag for working out. I’ve travelled the US and internationally with my GR2/3 setup. Rucked a bunch of miles including a 50 in 19 hours last year.
Bought GR3 to carry-on flight. Can I fit a weeks worth of clothes/necessities between it and my Rucker (as a personal item)?
I've taken a GR3 as a carry-on a number of times but it definitely needs to be placed in the overhead. As for a week's worth of clothes/necessities I guess that depends on how much stuff you need for a week. I've had no problem fitting a week's worth of clothes including 4 sets of workout clothes with shoes in mine. The bag is huge and, like others have mentioned, packing cubes will help a ton.

I wanted way more space and I need to be totally hands free. It’s a nightmare transporting animals and hopefully this will make it a bit easier. Otherwise, hubs and I will probably use the GR3 for combined packing on longer car trips, or I may use it while running errands on a bike.

I just downsized to one small bag (24L) during my RTW trip!
27M leaving for an RTW trip about half as long as yours on Wednesday. I’ve saved this post as I feel like I’m going to get the urge to downsize at some point and this is great motivation! Taking a 45L GoRuck GR3 and it’s definitely beefy.
