With 16 vents, the helmet clocks in at just 400 grams. The men’s version - Grid, $280 - has a Polartec liner that wraps around the fit system so it feels more like beanie.

 Yeah, my name's Garen. I'm with Giro Sport Design. We're looking at the Envy helmet. This is new for fall of 20, winter 20.

 It is a helmet that's designed for, but not necessarily exclusive to backcountry users.

 Coolest features on this are the helmet is about a pound, so about 420 grams.

 Meant for skinning up, touring. With superior venting you get 16 vents, fully adjustable in that regard.

 The helmet also features some cool technology with regard to protection of one's brain.

 We've got mint spherical on the inside. Allows for you to have this inside EPP foam layer move with your head as your potentially taking falls.

 Something unique to Giro. We've got a really amazing comfortable liner in the helmet as well for riders.

 Very easy to adjust and clip on magnetic chin locks. And also easy dialable fit system in the back.

 So if your helmet's getting hit here, your head's going to rotate one particular way.

 Well, this inside layer allows your head to move with that impact, redirecting that impact across the foam layers.

 So it basically mimics what your brain is already doing with regard to the fluid layer that's in it.

 But instead of your brain and your fluid taking that impact, the helmet's doing that.

 Okay, so then essentially though, one big hit and you're done with your helmet, right?

 In this regard, any big hit is something where you want to be certainly aware of the fact that you might want to replace your helmet.

 You never know what's going to happen with regard to how that higher impact is going to affect that outer layer.

 So while you're engaged in a particular fall, you're going to be guaranteed that this is going to be by far one of the better options for you on the mountain.

This is one of the lightest MIPS helmets in the game and it’s sooo comfy. You can easily remove the liner for spring days and it’s super adjustable. Really happy with this purchase!

 Since I don't snowboard or ski, I had to return this beautiful helmet. I bought a special e-Bike helmet instead (Giro Bexley), which is just as comfortable and but a lot safer for high speeds on an e-Bike through the city.

 But I bought this by mistake thinking that it would protect me while cycling on an e-Bike. I was looking for something very padded and comfortable and didn't know when I bought it that helmets are not interchangeable, and that the appropriate helmet should be used for the appropriate sport. Since I don't snowboard or ski, I had to return this beautiful helmet. I bought a special e-Bike helmet instead (Giro Bexley), which is just as comfortable and but a lot safer for high speeds on an e-Bike through the city
