The Stance 2 is a solid bike and will be a fun ride. Lots of people get bent out of shape over needing an enduro bike to ride anything that isn’t a super easy flow trail. You can ride plenty hard on the Stance and get good value out of it.

Bought a giant stance 29 1 last year and it rips had to put a bigger tire on the front and now it keeps up with all my buddies 5k setups and I only paid 2,100 after tax I’ll probably keep it for atleast another 3 years. Edit:make sure not to get the 29 2 as there is no dropper post and the suspension is basically and upgraded pogo stick. Yes it’s cheaper but spend the extra couple hundred dollars and you’ll have a real deal full susp bike.

It works fine (smooth as butter) if I take my weight off of it before trying to lower it. Going up is obviously not an problem because that requires you to lift you butt. I have a 2018 Giant Stance 2 with a TranzX YSP-19 and that isn't an issue on that bike.

I like my Stance 2 - it i a good bike - but I am thinking of upgrading soon because it doesn't have a couple things that I wish it did - and it doesn't really have as much style as some of the other options out there. Overall, I am a happy Giant customer but if I could do it again I may have gone a different route.

Great entry level bike, but the Giant 34 RCL front suspension fork has major issues. Right off the bat (second ride), I had problems with the front suspension fork sucking down. This causes the suspension travel to continually decrease, which led to my suspension to bottom out on easy tail obstacles...
