 Then I tested with a bunch of demanding games as well as a couple that are very sensitive to overclocking and they ran perfectly..  In fact they worked well enough that I put them in my 3080ti FTW3 Ultra. Well actually I replaced the ones already in it because these performed better

Simple Questions - January 06, 2022

 The Gelid folks should put small bends in the cardboard or better yet, place an equally thick plastic border around the pad to maintain consistent thickness. If you need to use the whole pad for your project, you may have to buy two (depending on how gingerly the packages were handled in delivery).

I have a Lenovo Y540 81SX0042IN and I had a motherboard issue a few weeks ago and got it changed from a genuine Lenovo Engineer .The Engineer also changed the heatsink along with it. Since that day, the temperature on my CPU and GPU have been quite high, the CPU reaches 95C and the GPU sits at 80C in just the lobby of FS2020 and in AAA titles the CPU is still above 90. I repasted my laptop (Arctic MX-4) and undervolted CPU by -100mv but it is still hovering in the 90s range. I tried running it on all 3 modes (Performance, Balanced and Quiet) but the temperature change is very minute.

I read a thread on reducing the temps of the CPU on reddit but it did not work and I fear that reverting to old BIOS might crash my system again and I might have to go through the painful process of using Lenovo Support again to get them to fix it with a new motherboard. If someone has a similar model or a similar problem and was able to fix it please drop your suggestions or steps that I could try. Thank you guys in advance because I was able to solve the problem by reverting to old BIOS before (BCNH26WW) and using quiet mode and an undervolt of -90mv. this would keep the CPU at 80C with virtually no performance drops. As a last resort, I might revert to old BIOS but the thought of something going wrong and living with no system for a week keeps me away from it.
