I'm in AZ and specifically got a Thinkware brand because they are good in the heat. For you, I take it you don't plan on using parking mode?. The Garmin 57 battery is only a 30 minutes battery so you will need to keep it plugged in. It looks like it used the magnetic mount so it should be easy to remove when you want.
