I know you can’t get rid of pores but I’m wondering is there anyway to make them smaller? I use La Roche Posay products. They keep my acne mostly at bay but I feel like my pores are just so large. Part of it is genetic, but just wondering if there’s anything else I can do at home to help. Thanks!

True to its name, this Goliath of a mortar and pestle was by far the biggest, heaviest, and best we tested. Weighing nearly 12 pounds, the granite mortar sat rooted to the counter; its coarse-textured interior allowed us to grind dry spices to fine powders and wet ingredients to smooth pastes more quickly than any other model. Its pestle—also the heaviest we tested—did a fantastic job of smashing garlic and reducing whole spices to smithereens. One tiny gripe: The pestle could be a smidge longer; our hands sometimes hit the rim of the mortar while pounding ingredients.

 Anyway, that's why this review is two stars instead of one.  The coating (mentioned in the title) caused the mortar and pestle to smell like a grease gun covered in lithium grease. I considered trying to clean it off, but I decided that was ridiculous. Granite dust is one thing; I expect to have to clean out the interior of my granite mortar before using it

Mortar and Pestle *both* arrived with the "shiny" areas covered in some kind of sticky, toxic-smelling coating.

Too heavy (for my wife) for home use. Takes up lots of counter space in our small kitchen. Would recommend it for a gourmet kitchen or commercial usage (like a restaurant). Feels like about 10 lbs?
