 Now I put some water here on the counter just to see the impact of what the water sensor will do when it comes into contact with water and I just got an email alert and a text alert indicating that the sensor went off and that will be recorded on my log in the app and I'm just going to dry it off and I believe that the blue light indicates that the wi-fi has been connected and the system is okay again. Now, if I didn't want to use this extender, I can just use this. the regular monitor and put that stuff aside and now it's in the water and there it goes. The nice thing is it does go off for a period of time to catch your attention, but it doesn't go on forever as if to drain the battery and then I'm just going to dry it and it should reconnect to the Wi-fi or say the wi-fi is connected

Flo By Moen Water Leak Detector

Does anyone have recommendations for a smart (automatic) whole house water shutoff valve/system?  A couple coworkers recommended the [Flo by Moen](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B081HT5LD6).  It will shut off your water either by sensing unusual water trends/usage or you can add water sensors throughout your house that will tell the unit to shut the water off fast.  Any general consensus here?

 Once I heard the beep and the blue light went out I pulled the battery out again and set it aside. Then I resumed pairing the other detectors. The water detectors after setup will store the WiFi name and password. Once setup is complete then put your iPhone name and personal hotspot password back to what it was prior

 and they’re connected and working without issue.  Features/Use: The devices detect water within seconds, if you have a Flo by Moen Smart Water Shutoff they’ll quickly turn off the water. Notifications worked as expected, I was really impressed.  My backstory: I live in a smart home mostly with iOS devices and using HomeKit natively and homebridge for everything else

 Then I drove home and was able to put the batteries back in the detectors when in range of my home WiFi. Because during setup your mobile hotspot was mimicking your home’s credentials the next time you pop in the batteries they should auto connect to your home WiFi without any additional steps. Mine did and work fine. I’ve tested pulling out the batteries again, testing to see if it will detect leaks, etc

 Then use the phone that’s not broadcasting the WiFi network to pair the Smart Detector. This worked for me, once it completed pairing and showed up in the app I pulled the battery and reinserted it. Once I heard the beep and the blue light went out I pulled the battery out again and set it aside. Then I resumed pairing the other detectors

Issue with WiFi During Setup But Otherwise Works Well

 It'll also tell/\s/you the flow, how many gallons or liters of/\s/ water you're using and the overall water pressure/\s/so why are these important? Well, we'll start with/\s/ temperature. Well, you probably want to know if/\s/the water temperature dips below zero, especially/\s/ if you're using this in a cottage or a cabin or/\s/anywhere in the north like in Canada. and if you/\s/ do see the temperature going down again/\s/you can take the appropriate action so/\s/ that your pipes don't freeze and burst and/\s/then let's have a look at the pressure the/\s/ water pressure. This is how it's detecting leaks it/\s/actually does daily micro leak detection tests

 This is a/\s/device that you want professionally installed by/\s/ a plumber. but once it's installed it is super cool/\s/it'll tell you three different important things/\s/ the temperature of the water.  I started with 3 of these and then about a year later added 2 more, and have also for various reasons need to reset and re-add one or two since then. I don't think I have ever been able to add any of them smoothly on the first try, and sometimes not on the 2nd or 3rd try either. If it's a problem with the app or firmware, it's one they haven't fixed in a couple of years. Sometimes I have to restart the app, sometimes I have to reset the device
