FabFilter Pro-Q 3

Pro-Q 3 is one of the best damn plug-ins I have ever used, and I’ve heard the compressor and limiter plug-ins by FabFilter are just as good. In the same breath as the other commenter, FabFilter plug-ins are a whole different world than iZotope.

(Example: Fabfilter Pro Q 3). Reverb plugins are trending - program dependent algorithms, blending of IRs and Algorithms, saturation with analog emulations, EQ, gate, advanced modulation features (rate, depth, tempo sync, chorus, flanger, phaser, etc. ), global and individual controls for time, pre-delay, size, advanced matrix for blending and routing, RT60 control, ER/LR Blending, mid/side controls, vector GUI, good RTA, surround and VR support.

I think five minutes playing around with Pro Q3 should be all it takes to convince you. The other benefit of Fabfilter is the ability to just use a plugin, and not have to use a plugin inside a plugin, unless you have the advanced versions of the iZotope offerings.

I’d avoid waves since they’ve been sorta shit as a company lately. I’d try these out:

Brainworx SSL E (or any channel strip)

Fabfilter Pro-Q 3

Fabfilter Pro-C 2

The plugin that’s become absolutely essential to me is Fabfilter Pro Q 3 - Use it all the time and love how it sounds and looks. I also use the Soundtoys 5 bundle in every mix, super creative and useful plugins

Trackspacer is great, but I would recommend using pro q 3 (sidechaining using the dynamic EQ).

Trackspacer uses a ton of CPU and can be really frustrating when you need to solve frequency masking problems on multiple tracks.

Running big sur with PT Ultimate w/ HDX card on a new mac pro. Every plugin I use is compatible - entire PA catalog, complete UAD, Fabfilter, Soundtoys, etc etc.

* Bluecat's Connector so you don't actually have to use Luna. * Fabfilter Pro Q 3 in linear phase mode -- this could be accomplished using other linear phase eq's as well. I produce, mix, and overall work in pro tools.

Track spacer, pro -mb, pro q 3

You can also set up a rack in ableton but it’s a bit tedious and more difficult to use

I dumped all my waves plugins for fabfilter. Way lighter on my RAM and CPU, better sounding, cheaper. Never looked back.
