Explain something I truly do not understand: why you need external bottle pockets.
Water bottle pockets aren't a deal breaker for me but I HIGHLY prefer a backpack with external bottle pockets, even if my best EDC is the CPL24 v2. It is about convenience. Sometimes I just want to grab my bottle from the holder without opening my backpack, especially in a classroom setting.

What are your experiences with Rofmia (specifically Daypack v2)?
I love my bag, I had them add a pass through for luggage. Which they added a dyneema passthrough and I asked for a iPad/document pouch (like the evergoods CPL24 has) inside the bag. Best backpack I have owned and I have had a lot!

Evergoods CPL 24 v2 Review: Best Everyday Carry Backpacks
Evergoods has delivered with their CPL 24 v2. This bag could be used in a variety of settings and would be equally comfortable in each of them—from a city setting to a weekend trip to the lake house, you are set.

Noticeable Weight Difference btwn CPL24 v1 & v2??
I would say Evergoods had it right the first time with the CPL24. Felt light when empty, carried nicely under heavy loads and looked ok when less full. Also the V1 felt like it held more than the V2.
Aer City X-Pac, Black Ember Shadow or Forge Max, CPL24V2?? Can't decide
The CPL24 v2 is my newest bag and it’s incredible. It’s very comfortable and seems to get more comfortable the more weight I put in it. The side access laptop compartment with a document sleeve (or whatever you want to use the other side for) makes it really easy to get stuff in and out when working. And with the front pocket being side access, and a big pocket in the main compartment being side access as well, you can lay the bag down and easily get everything you need.

Looking for an alternate to GoRuck
Look for a used Evergoods CPL24 or CHZ22. Still around $100, but solid bags.
GR1 still great in 2020?
It is still relevant and super popular but I think the new Evergoods CPL24 v2 is a better bag. I recently bought the GR1 21L slick from Huckberry but I’m returning it because it is quite heavy and the straps are weirdly too wide and thick (plus I still need to break in the straps... I think it took about a year for my Echo) but that’s probably because you can’t use a chest strap.
