Niacinamide and azelaic acid were mentioned here, but also good is licochalcone (from licorice root). Personally, when I use the Eucerin Eczema Cream (with colloidal oatmeal and licochalcone) my redness and unevenness decreases significantly.

Hers is eczema and we were prescribed a strong hydrocortisone and told to layer it underneath lotion (ped allergist specifically recommended CeraVe, but we have found that Eucerin Baby Eczema Cream worked the best, even though it’s hard to find now). We were also recommended short, cool baths either once per week or 1/2 times daily.
