Skiing in some crud or stiff hard pebble snow wasn't as enjoyable, but honestly I don't think any ski really is. I wish I had got to test it in the powder, but I imagine the float would be solid, if someone else can give first hand experience that would be awesome. Overall, I clicked immediately with these skis. I skied it the most as well that day because of how natural everything felt and I didn't really get tired on them.

Great ski for an intermediate progressing to advanced/expert. Excellent control on groomers and in the trees.

That ski is pretty fun. Of course, It's very hard to buy a BAD ski these days, and the difference between skis is usually very minimal if they have a similar shape/size/purpose. Usually it's just material differences. It's easy to get stuck in the weeds comparing a bunch of skis that at the end of the day will ski very similar to each other, especially if you don't know the difference (since you're likely to not try 20 skis).

The black edition with the extra carbon fiber and rods would help everything I found wrong with the original model (which i loved, but felt a little uneasy at high speeds). I am an advanced/expert skier (can ski everything on-piste at a mountain like Park City, Snowbird, Aspen don't know what constitutes an expert) that loves tree skiing and off-piste powder skiing.

I just bought elan ripstick 106. They are the most lightweight, yet powerful skis I’ve ever had. They have 96 mm and a black edition as well with a ton more carbon in it for added stiffness without adding a ton of weight. Hands down my favorite ski to date.
