 We do get quite a long shovel rocker here starting right about here leading to this pretty monster splay up top. More taper in the shovel than in the tail, that's just going to lead to that smooth entry into the turn. Really just helps you keep those skis up, those tips up and kind of give it that wheelie style skiing. But why this points right about here, so that's going to keep the shovel and forebody out of the snow pretty well

 Hey skiers it's Bob with SkiEssentials.com. Welcome to our 2023 ski test. We got a DPS

 Lotus 117 with a pagoda build to it. Oh that one wants to go. A really fun new ski from DPS

 here. This one will cooperate with me, just got to push it hard. A really fun wider ski here,

 free ride oriented, deep snow. This thing loves to go, definitely has a good mix of shaping and

 construction that make it stand out from some other skis in DPS's line, but definitely has

 that free ride mentality, that floatiness, that surfiness that we've liked about this company

 for a while now. So featuring that pagoda build we get a blend of woods going on in here. So along

 the outside there is aspen wood and then two central cords consisting of ash on the top and

 then polonia on the bottom. So it's a really nice blend of different types of woods that create a

 unique personality to this ski. Overall it just ends up being really energetic and dynamic.

 On top and bottom of that wood core we get DPS's dual carbon laminate. So pretty stiff,

 you know aerospace grade carbon, really high quality stuff and it does make the ski pretty
