2023 DPS Pagoda 112 RP Ski Review | Curated - YouTube

 Last day of our ski reviews here at beautiful Powder Mountain.

 First off, today I got to jump on the DPS Pagoda 112 RP.

 First time ever on a DPS ski and I was excited.

 Just so you know, we are not sponsored by any of these brands or affiliated,

 so all of our views are completely unbiased.

 This is the 112 underfoot, the ski you take out when it's steeper.

 It's a heck of a lot wider in the tip, so it's going to float like crazy.

 First impression is it's quick edge to edge.

 Seems fairly stable underfoot, a little bit of chatter maybe in the tips,

 We kind of rode a more like wide open bigger mountain style line

 I had confidence underfoot coming down from a couple of drops.

 The Pagoda 112 did have a little bit of chatter in the tip.

 Has to do because they are a fairly light ski

 and they also have that big 140 millimeter shovel with a lot of rocker.

 Definitely something to consider if you're a newer skier

 and that chatter could intimidate you at speeds.

 This is a really fun powder ski for people that are not skiing

 Like if you are skiing powder in the trees, you're skiing powder

 and you're not really pushing it super hard or doing any crazy tricks.

 This is going to be a really good, like everyday skiers powder ski

 that's going to be light and quick to turn and float really well.

 It does have tip and tail rocker, so definitely fun.

 I don't know if I would land off of a jump in deep powder switch

 with the Pagoda 112, but other than that, all around super fun ski.

 I wouldn't recommend the DPS Pagoda 112 RP for anybody

 that's spending 90 percent of their time on groomers.

 This ski is going to excel on and off the groomers.

 That being said, for someone making like smooth turns,

 not looking to push it super hard, wants to ski powder,

 wants to ski the trees and make quick turns, this will be a really good ski.

 Skis work differently for different skiers.

I might be a little late to the trend but here’s my quiver for the upcoming season. Super excited

 And then they also have to taper the ski in order to get the widest point lower closer to the foot to create that 15 meter side cut. So this just crazy amount of early taper here makes this thing float extremely smoothly through the snow. I mean, you won't feel anything from here forward leading to that total flotation. So it's going to float even better than a 112 millimeter ski normally would, especially in the shovel there

 But still, as that ski, you reach the end of that effective edge, it's just all smoothness in the powder from there on out, which is a pretty cool and unique feeling and very much in character with what DPS has done in the past, present, and probably will in the future. So the combination of the carbon with the triple wood blend, this shape and the taper make this a very unique ski, just totally traditionally DPS and an awesome option for advanced and expert skiers who are using this mainly as a resort powder ski. So when it snows and you're riding the lifts, this is the one you want to take. It really makes nice, easy turns through the snow
