 Still even to this very day going on my third month of constant daily use the heater continues to gas off some kind off very nasty potent smell. It’s so strong that the stench won’t leave my nostrils and that all I smell all day no matter how much fresh air I get outside or how much time I get from home.  So I decided on the older knob style and so glad I. It works like a champ! The only thing I haven’t tried is the 24-hour programmable option yet.  I use it in a open part of my basement probably over 500sqft. And even with all that space In such a old Home this tiny heater manages to eventually heat that part of the basement nice and toasty! I just close all the other doors and that helps the speed

 It's very easy to catch one of the little time-setting clips with your clothing, thus accidentally setting the timer. I've done this several times. A cover for the dial or an electric time setting function would be a better idea. Also, the power cord storage reel can't seem to hold the whole power cord, and it always comes unrolled

 My complaints are: 1. It is difficult to clean. Dust collects in between the heating fins, preventing the unit from efficiently dispersing its heat. A vacuum attachment won't reach inside to remove the dust

 I may have a cold but I think it's the heater. I just got a humidifier to help out.  3. The real reason I give this a 3 star is the plastic cover protecting the metal heater doesn't allow enough air out of the sides

I turned it off after that to go to bed and was too hot Because the metal took awhile too cool down so it was still heating (which is good to know).  Do I wish it was higher, yes, but apparently that’s not a feature of this heater. If you’re standing right next to it you can feel some radiating heat, like a stove that might’ve been turned off a couple minutes ago, but from five feet away you won’t even know it’s on. There is zero noise.  I asked the question in the Q&A section a few years ago if this thing is supposed to just heat up the room ~10 degrees, and the only answer I got was someone who said “I dunno, works good for me”

I’ve been using this to heat a small 15x20-foot outbuilding since it has my potted plants inside during the winter months. The most okayest heater money can buy!

This oil-filled radiator isn't as warm as my previous DeLonghi was, and there are more hot surfaces when I move than with the previous one. I like that it has been a safe heater, but I wish the heat output were better.

We had a tiny sitting room we wanted to heat during our 25-30 degree weather. One couldn't heat it so we tried two. Two of these couldn't even the tiny room. We refunded it a week later

Great heat, but stinks to high heaven (especially on the HIGH position).  Also mechanical timer (why?) clicks 24/7 sometimes louder, sometimes barely noticeable..

Close but no cigar...

I have had three other DeLonghi heaters and this one does not compare. Not as large, not as many fins, and does not give off as much heat. The controls are better.

  Another thing I like about this heater is that it has a 24-hour timer. It's an old-fashioned one that requires that you first line up the line on the dial with the current time, and then set the teeth to their "ON" or "OFF" positions as desired in 15-minute increments. That's a bit of a chore, but the upside is that you can set multiple ON/OFF times.  For example, if you want the heater to come on at 6:00 am and turn off at 7:30 am every morning so you can get ready for work, and then come on again at 5:00 pm and turn off at 10:00 pm so the room will be warm when you get home from work, you would just set all the teeth for 6:00 am to 7:30 am, and all the teeth for 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm, to ON, and leave the rest OFF

 It takes about half an hour for the convection to start happening, but once it does, the room will warm quickly.  Another helpful hint from personal experience: If there's a stairway in the room you want to heat, and you don't want to heat the upstairs, place the heater across the room from the stairway. The heat will want to rise up the stairs, but it will have to pass across the room to do it. If you place the heater by the stairs, the heat will rise straight up the stairs without heating the room

 Just remember that the peculiar way in which it forces air upwards means it may not work well in the spot where you would usually place an oil-filled radiator. Experiment a bit, and I think you'll find the sweet spot. Remember: Think convection.  Richard

 You have to place it in a part of the room where the column of warm air that rises from the top will settle on the parts of the room you want warmest as the air slightly cools. In other words, you have to set up a convection cycle that constantly circulates warm air up from the heater and down again onto the areas you want warmed. This heater is all about convection.  Over the years, I've found that most oil-filled radiators work best when placed near a window or an exterior wall
