This isn't accurate. Lots of Craftsman tools are made in China and Taiwan now, and DeWalt stuff is global.

He got a Craftsman stapler back in the late 90s that finally shit the bed: definitely got his money's worth, literally 1000s of staples later. Trashed it, not even thinking about a warranty, and go to our local Ace Hardware for a replacement.

My grandpa was an all around handy man--carpentry, electrical, plumbing, etc...Craftsman was all he bought for years. I've got some great drills, saws, and what not that he gave me.

Craftsman used to be a symbol of quality, but then their quality declined to chase the mass market discount-seekers like many other brands did.

Craftsman is pure crap since going overseas. Just had a jointer go out on second board I planed. No help from craftsman for a bad Chinese switch. All craftsman tools are permanently ban from my shop.

They used to make all of the Craftsman sets, and apparently still make the ones sold at Lowes (if Wikipedia is to be believed). Quality went downhill when production moved to Mexico and further when they were bought by Stanley/Black and Decker in 2017.
