It's a great keyboard. Did some research and it checked all of my boxes instead of one (it doesn't have USB passthrough).

I backed the Keychron K7 with low profile optical switches on Kickstarter, and it comes an option of Red, Blue, Brown, Banana & Mint. This would be my first mechanical keyboard (only ever tried the Logitech G613 before whose keys I hated) so not sure of which one to choose. I'm torn between the Red & Banana switch, any advice?

i finally got my first mkb yesterday(keychron k4v2) I know that cleaning mkbs is important but how far should I clean mine? I know people who remove and clean the keycaps and just dusting the board/switches. but since these gateron browns have holes for the rgb, should I completely disassemble it when cleaning?

 Sadly, that wasn't the case. I plugged the K70 in, the lights came on and Windows informed me the keyboard had malfunctioned. I opened Notepad and sure enough the keyboard was no more.  While I realize spilling fluids is an operator error and the failure of the keyboard is my fault / preventable, the amount of fluid was a tiny fraction of the amount I've had spilled into my K95 at parties

 As with most of the K95s at that time, most of the LEDs started burning out only a few weeks after use, but I didn't care too much as it still worked great. I put that keyboard through hell as I jumped from LAN party to LAN party. Drinks would spill on it, I'd unplug it, clean it, and it would still work fine.  Fast forward three years later and I decided it was time to pick up a new Corsair keyboard

 Less than a fluid ounce fell onto the Ctrl key. I unplugged it immediately as I always have with my K95 keyboard. I pulled off the keys, dried it, and put the keys back on as I had at least 5-6 times with my K95. I expected it to work after that as my faithful K95 always had when soda and other drinks spilled on it at LAN parties

 Corsair has included a full length, soft touch, detachable wrist rest as well as some swappable custom gaming keycaps. To help control your media, there are 6 dedicated multimedia keys including a volume controller roller which I actually use quite a bit, it comes in handy all the time. The back edge of the keyboard has a USB passthrough port, BIOS switch and a single massive braided fiber cable which also looks quite nice. The underside has 4 adjustable feet to control the height and tilt angle of the keyboard

 Lighting effects, macros and general performance are all controlled through Corsair's Q software. For RGB lighting effects, there are 13 default settings that can be set and adjusted to your taste and even combined or layered for some pretty crazy custom effects. Let's have a look at some of those effects right now. According to Corsair's website, the keyboard is currently available with Cherry MX Red, Blue, Brown and Silent switches

almost a great keyboard, the base quality feels sturdy and heavy, i like how is minimalist and doesn't have all those ridiculous extras keys that other gaming KB does, the rgb lighting is spectacular, the essential media control keys are welcome without cluttering the board, although i wish they were a bit taller, of course the red switches are the best for gaming and my favorite, the loud noise on the other switches drives me insane.  what is ridiculous is how cheap corsair went with the keycaps, most of them are really loose that while wiping them gently they fall off which is really irritating and the worst of all? the keycaps quality is laughable i have like 9 if not more of them cracked/broken at the base, they feel like a freaking egg shell, i have $15 dollar KB that never had this problem, forget about replacing them, it'll cost the same as a new KB.  another thing that bothers me is the huge cables, as another reviewer said how it could've been great if they were modular so you'll just use the cable that you need instead of having them just dangling on the back of your pc when they're not being used.  all that being said, i just wish corsair had pay more attention at the quality of the keys then this truly could've been and excellent mechanical KB

The K100 seems like a perfect fit if it would be a TKL keyboard. I found the Corsair K70 RGB TKL lacking two major features which really stopping me from buying it. The first one would be the missing palm rest (which I find really important) and the second one is the switch selection. Its not possible to choose OPX switches for the K70

 Another thing is if I ever catch myself in the middle of a pride parade, my keyboard can double as a virtual rainbow flag.  Brightness - The RGB backlighting on this isn't nearly as bright as some of the other keyboards (Razer), but it is bright enough for me. The LUX model has larger letters that allow more light to shine through than the K70. As a result, the keyboard allows a lot of light to reach the eye without being too bright

 Even though I don't look down at my keyboard to type, its a nice ambiance, and brings some color to an otherwise dull environment. One useful utility I found for the RGB control is to make the Caps Lock key change to red if I hit it. Full-Featured, Durable Keyboard

 I live in Brazil and it's really hard and expensive to find ergonomic keyboards here. I didn't want to waste money on something that wasn't really what I wanted, so I just saved money haha;.

- I don't have any hand health issues, but I'm a sucker for efficiency and really like the idea of customizing your keyboard;. - I've only used a Logitech K40 (membrane) and I'm currently using a Corsair K70 I borrowed from my cousin. I live in Brazil and it's really hard and expensive to find ergonomic keyboards here. I didn't want to waste money on something that wasn't really what I wanted, so I just saved money haha;

I'm in need of a mech keyboard recommendation, to replace my well worn Microsoft Sculpt. When I started my job 7 years ago, I was issued an Apple Keyboard, it was tiny and within a few days my hand was cramping and achy. I don't have any pre-existing conditions, so I just chalked it up to being a tiny keyboard. My IT department gave me a Microsoft Sculpt and I immediately fell in love. The hand pain went away and I never looked back.

Over the last couple of months it's been having connectivity issues, missing keystrokes, or just not responding. 

I picked up a cheap hot swap mech keyboard from Amazon for about $100 and have been enjoying playing with switches and keycaps. The problem however, is that my left hand is starting to ache and hurt. Getting some numbness in my pinky and ring finger, and sometimes up my forearm. I am left handed, and approaching 40. I wouldn't be surprised if I have the beginnings of carpal tunnel syndrome. But nothing has been officially diagnosed.

My keyboard is for office / general use. I'm not really a PC gamer these days. I do play Dungeons and Dragons digitally, and have other hobbies online. So this keyboard would get a LOT of use.

- I would love to find something that emulates the MS Sculpt in design and function.
- For work I require arrow keys and Home, end, PGup, PGdn. 
- this does run on a Mac, so Mac keys would be awesome. However I can always reprogram like I did with the MS Sculpt.
- I do not require function keys
- I believe I'll need a wrist rest, similar to the MS Sculpt
- Would prefer a "built" option, even if it costs extra. It's been a long time since I've soldered, and not sure I want to deal with that right now.
- Hot Swap would be nice, I do enjoy playing around with switches.

I don't really have a budget. I'll use this keyboard 7-8 hours a day for my job, and then for any household computing needs. I'm willing to invest.

Preexisting conditions: None, but I sometimes experience wrist or finger pain

Current keyboard: Glorious GMMK full size, brown switches

Layout in mind: Split, that's all I know for sure. I don't really know what's out there, so open for suggestions.

Use case: Mostly gaming, with some typing for messaging, Google docs, etc. I'm a big guy with broad shoulders and large hands, so I definitely want a split kb  to be able to keep my hands shoulder width. Rn I'm mostly between the Kinesis Freestyle Edge ($200) or the Ergodox EZ ($300-$360) I'm not sure about the stacked vs staggered layout and the pros/cons of each. More generally, I'm not clear on whether it's worth it to spend the extra for the Ergodox. If there's a big difference, I'm willing to do it, but it's a lot for me to spend on keyboard. I also don't know if I should be paying extra for the wing wrist rests/tenting kit. My gut says I'd probably at least get that. Curious to hear any feedback for either of those two keyboards! 

Budget: can spend up the $360 for the ergodox ez with add ons, but looking for confirmation on whether or not that's worth the cost compared to the $200 kinesis or some other option.
