 It's the first time in Cannondale I've used a four bar suspension system. Obviously, super common system, kind of owned for a lot of years by Specialized, through the horse patent, but loads of people have used it. And if you look at the linkage setup on this, with the shock under the top tube, it doesn't look anything remarkable or different at all. But what Luis has gone straight on is making, not only finding the sweet spot of the four bar, but finding it for as many people as possible, in terms of rider proportions, with what they call proportional response suspension

 Alright, it's been designed by a guy called Luis Rez, who is an absolute suspension guru. He was the guy behind the crazy K9 multi-linkage bike downhill machine back in the day and he has worked some magic on this Habit, he really has. It's the first time in Cannondale I've used a four bar suspension system. Obviously, super common system, kind of owned for a lot of years by Specialized, through the horse patent, but loads of people have used it

 Although this climb isn't exactly the best way to show that. And also, it's a sturdy enough frame that it comes with a lifetime warranty. And if you go for the alloy rear end carbon front end version, that's about a kilo and a half lighter, and then the full carbon version is, I think, 3.3 kilos lighter

 Oh, yeah, AI, AI, I've completely forgotten to mention AI on the back. 8mm offset in the rear end, which makes, I mean, it just makes finding a new, it meant to make it stiffer, but to be honest, such a hench rear end, it's hard to tell, and it just means you'd have to re-dish any replacement wheel you want to get in the bike. But just what really matters is that bit there, the amount of control and flow and fun generation in that set of linkages and that shock that Louise and Cannondale have built together, and the fact it's got a lifetime warranty and it's nice little cable tidies and screwing bottom bracket, this is a proper bomber of a bike for not a lot of cash, and I have proper loved riding this despite, you know, a few little foibles on it. Yeah, proper, proper little ooligan this

My wife is 5'0" on an XS Cannondale Habit 27.5 and it fits her like a glove.  Try XS frames.

My wife is 4ft 11". i want to get her into a Full Suspension MTB but unsure what size i should get her into. Shes got a Liv Rove XS which works for her but the 700c wheels just look.. comically large for her? like she's riding a Penny Farthing..  


Im thinking of maybe a kids bike might be more appropriate, smaller wheels and lighter which would allow her to actually maneuver the bike. She only weighs 100lbs and I often think her current bike drives her.  


Does anyone have experience sizing a bike for a small lady? are there brands for adult bikes for  extra small women?

I bought my bike a Specialized Chisel this year and have been pushing her to ride with me. We are out 2 to 3 times a week and she’s really getting into it. 

Last week however I took my daughter (14) out for the first time, she doesn’t have a bike of her own so she rode her brothers dirt jumper, which she has been riding all over the neighborhood everyday. She took to mountain biking like a trooper and wants to start coming with us. 

My daughter is roughly the same size as my wife so the thought would be to let her have the chisel and get my wife a FS bike. Looking at the Cannondale Habit 2 Carbon Women’s or similar. Would like to stick with Shimano SLX or better drivetrain. Don’t need crazy travel just a trail bike. Small or x-small size. 

Ladies what would you get in the sub $5000 range ideally closer to $4000?

Just ordered the Cannondale habit 4 full suspension from REI after riding a Specialized rockhopper hard tail. This is the most I’ve ever spent on a bike of any kind. Is the upgrade from a hardtail to a full suspension significant?
