 Can you see how that tapers like that? You can see it even more exaggerated? If you look here, do you see how that's wider there ooh? This has Suri and most looks like? Oh, they stick together, oh dear, and there is a little bit of oil on these. I'M all about it. Don'T let it rust! Okay, final box here aim vein as ooh [, Music, ], fancy Wow, look at that. So this comes in a wooden box

 It also doesn't 100 % match the magnetic walnut SIA, which is personally fine with me. I like, would variation, but some people really love when it's a clean match between the SIA and the handle we're rocking the same hardness as the Z series. So you have 60 plus or minus two, but in my experience this performs a little bit more consistently and last longer than the Z series, which might be the steal. Yes, but also a little bit of my subconscious bias, because I would use both knives for different things and that's because personally, this is the profile I think of when I think 8-inch chef's knife, and I would use this for 80 % of my day when I Was prepping? I personally wish that the handle was a little bit thicker, I'm only talking like millimeters thicker and that's because yes, there is the tapered D style profile, but it's not

 Overall, personally, when I look at this knife - and I see how they market it with the full tang and the handle materials and the NSF stamp on the blade and the hardness of it, where it's a little bit easier to sharpen, I think this actually feels a Really good void in the market for someone who's like listen. My work has crazy, strict standards on what tools I can use and they have to be completely sealed to prevent cross-contamination and bacterial growth, but I hate the boring look of a Victoria Knox. I want something: that's a little bit thinner, has a gorgeous, pin details and comes with a carbonized wood SIA that has Magna Sinnott, and I like the angle of the base of the handle and how it kind of mirrors the bolster angle and makes it look. Sleek, does that sound like you, did we just jinx in all seriousness? If that sounds like something that is attractive to you, I think you should probably get this knife, but I think how thick and chunky this blade is partnered with the hardness of the steel

 They say this is forged. Damascus. I can definitely see some sandwiches happening on the blade here, which is fine, they're claiming 67 layers with a 60 rockwell, hardness plus or minus two, and then that leads to this very clean break. Going between the Damascus blade and a non Damascus steel that makes its way into the full tang of the handle

The thing I like the most though, I'm not sure if you can see the camera here, is the cut back bolsters right here. It allows you to really pinch them in your finger here so you have greater control over the blade, especially if you're trying to do more of your finesse cuts, your really fine dyes and such, but it just feels really, really good and what's most impressive is the price of this stuff. These right here are considerably cheaper and by that I mean less than half expensive as a lot of your European knife makers and every single one of us here on the team at Southern Kitchen has picked these up and tried them, has just been blown away with the quality of them

 You do need a serrated knife at some point if it's just for slicing tomatoes, going through

 There are a couple instances of a few other ones to where like if you have a nice steak

 that has like a real hard char on it, you might want a slight serration to it just to

 be able to get through that and then this is sort of the workhorse of every knife in

 the kitchen is going to be your basic chef's knife here.

 Me and my house, I use these two knives 90% of the time and then for those hard items

 such as crusty bread and so forth that I mentioned, you need your serration knife here to be able

 to sort of cut through that crust without squishing it.

This is a Cangshan TC Nakiri picked up a few months ago. I got this to be the tough knife in the kitchen, something that could handle hard to cut vegetables. In this case it proved up to the task cutting through corn on the cob with very little effort.

Great set but scissor can be better

 That may seem mumbo-jumbo to you, but that basically means it's a very good stainless steel, that'll, never rust that can hold a very good edge and HRC, which is the hardness scale. 58 is extremely strong. You'Re not gon na have to worry really about chipping or anything with it now. The thing that really surprised me, the most with this set, was how sharp it came right out of the box

 Chef'S knife: you get a 7 inch santoku, you get an 8 inch, serrated bread knife, a 5 inch, serrated utility knife and then a three and a half inch paring knife and then the block to hold all of them, and it is a custom-made block for those Knives I mean for a hundred and fifty bucks or a little bit less like I said you get an awesome, and I've said this is really the last one you'll ever need. It makes a really good gift too. Now I should mention like cangshan, isn't paying me for this video or anything like that? It'S not sponsored by them or anything like. Oh, this is just purely my two cents, so I thought I'd clarify that in case you thought I was singing its praises too much, but it's hard not to because it's just such a good deal for a really good quality knife set

 The knife is the nice thing about this. Set too is. I would put this on par right up there with my shun knives. Now my shun knife, my 1/8 inch chef's knife - I paid one hundred and fifty dollars for you - can get this entire set with the block for the same price, actually a little bit less with that discount
