The Cal 7 Complete doesn't match the quality of products made by a reputable skate brand. However, out of the boards that we tested in this lower price range, this one clearly felt the best and performed far better than the others. Although the deck has virtually no concave, it is not as thick and heavy as the PHOEROS or White Fang models, and it has better pop and higher quality grip tape. The generic trucks on this complete are also much better than the others at a similar price point, as they are more stable, and they turn and grind decently well. The one area where the Cal 7 excels is in the graphics department. While the picture on the deck doesn't affect the board's performance and ends up getting scratched off over time, our testers and friends thought the Japanese Oni mask artwork was really cool. Even though the Cal 7 Complete is in a lower class compared to the models from more recognizable skate companies, it is a decent option for those who want to give skateboarding a try at a low price.
The Cal 7 will allow for beginners to develop their balance, get comfortable riding, and learn basic tricks. However, since the overall quality is lower, some aspects can hold the skater back from progressing. The deck is not as crisp as a pro-quality board. Although it's better than some, it has a rather dull pop, which requires more effort for tricks. The deck is also slightly bigger, at 8" wide, so it's a good size for teens or young adults, but it may be harder for younger kids to control. The bearings on this setup do not roll very fast or far and don't maintain their speed very well. When the rider stops pushing and has both feet on the board, the bearings start to lose their speed rather quickly. The Cal 7 performed the worst of all during our bearing test and only rolled about 30 feet from a single push on a smooth flat surface. In summary, the Cal 7 Complete is a decent introductory model for anyone new to the sport who isn't sure if a pro-quality setup is necessary quite yet.

 These wheels are definitely much better than any Target or Walmart or Amazon skateboard wheels are gonna be, but they're still not amazing. I really got a sense of the quality of the wheels when I did a revert on my skateboard. If you're new to skateboarding, a revert is when you do a 180 on the ground to change the way you're facing on your skateboard. When I did a reverb with this Cal 7 board, it kind of felt like I was just like rubbing rubber against concrete

 I'm honestly considering keeping the trucks once I'm done reviewing the skateboard. I probably won't use the trucks on any of my own personal setups, but I might throw them on a second board just in case I have a friend who wants to cruise around with me but doesn't have a skateboard of their own. So overall, I'm gonna give the trucks a 7 out of 10 rating. So now let's move on to those spinning boys

 I actually think their website looks very smooth. They got this cool little banner at the top that shows some of their products they offer and if you scroll down, you get this cool little video that just loops of some of their team riders just out there shredding. But I'm not here to judge their videos or their website design. I'm here to look at their boards

 It's just something I noticed. The last initial concern I have are the bearings on this board. They aren't terrible bearings. I mean they definitely do spin, but for brand new bearings, you would expect them to spin a little longer than this

 On a side note, these bearings are just plain awful. I rode this board down a hill and couldn't go faster than a brisk walking speed. There is literally not a single redeeming quality of this board. Yeah, the price is good, but you can instead just walk to your local farm, find the bull pin, pick up some of its droppings, and you'll have exactly the same product for less than whatever they're charging on here

 This is dangerous when trying to grind anything because the kingpin will stick and you will slam. When tightening the trucks the bolt of the kingpin sticks further out, tighter you go the more dangerous it gets. The bearings say abec7 they do not feel like abec7 more like abec3 or old abec5s. They don't spin well

 The grip tape is good, nice and gripy. Wheels are OK 52mm kind of small for me I like 54mm or 56mm for my wheel size. Hardware is good just nuts and bolts. Riser pad is a nice to have

Beginner skateboard

Good value the trucks are ok and all my complaint is the grip tape it came with a drawing on it looked as if it was done by a child and the application was very janky with it not being cut right lengths. I do not have any pictures as it didn’t bother me because I was replacing it anyway I just didn’t expect this from a new board had I bought a used one I’d have no issues. I do suggest loosening up the trucks a tad other than that it’s ok for a beginner the person I got it for loves it.

Ok for beginner. Grip tape quality below expectations.

 Buy their deck and a decent set of trucks, wheels, and bearings. Or really just buy a complete from a local skate shop for $30 more.

 I got my dads hand saw and cut the ply wood In the shape of a popsicle board and soaked it in water for a few days to bend the tail and dried it out in the sun. It was thick and bulky but it was mine. That set up lasted over five years until I could afford a new maple blank. By the time I could get a regular a deck it seemed so light and flimsy I thought I was going to break it every time I got on

 This prevents the wheels from hitting the deck when you lean and/or turn. Value? Wheel good value 7ply deck and arrives assembled. The board I received had poor grip tape application as seen in pictures attached. Does this change how you ride? If your trying to position and you can’t rotate your feet because you are hitting this ridge left in the grip tape

 It wasn’t a bad deck I just became accustomed to a heavy board made out out of 1/4 plywood. In comparison about 5 ply Georgia pine ply wood we had that was bought at a hardware store.

 The board I received had poor grip tape application as seen in pictures attached. Does this change how you ride? If your trying to position and you can’t rotate your feet because you are hitting this ridge left in the grip tape. Sturdiness? States 7ply maple, I didn’t count the ply because it may well be 7 but could also be the thinnest maple ply money can buy and be junk. Overall- I bought this for my son as his first new board, he is 11, and was extremely excited to receive this to the point his first ride was in the dark on our driveway when I got home from work

Good for beginners, but bad grip tape application. ABEC 5 bearings

 The wheels were soft and the grip tape wasn’t perfect. The wheels spun but one needed adjustment (but still better than others I’ve tried). The graphic seems backward. This board has a longer side that one can only assume is the tail

 It had risers so for the beginner skater I’m gifting it too I put 58mm wheels that are much harder and will be easier to turn with. The trucks have a nicer polish than other cheap brands and that makes for a really nice looking board

Why wouldn’t you buy this?

 Unfortunately we have asphalt and he can't coast because it has traditional skateboard wheels. The longboard has fatter wheels and works great on asphalt but this skateboard needs a smoother surface. My husband can ride it well on the road but I think it's just a little too hard for a six year old, so we are planning on really breaking it in at the skate park. I will update once we do
